At last, it is time to give Skyblock a well deserved update! With this update comes a bit of old and a bit of new! With this update comes a plethora of new features which have been added to Minecraft. For those MCCentral players who have been around for many years, you are also about to go on a trip down memory lane! This reset will be home to one of our legacy spawns which was last seen over 5 years ago! Updated Backend (1.12)
Minecraft Central's Skyblock server has been running on a 1.8 backend for over 5 years now. We feel that the time has come to start diving into the later versions of Minecraft to deliver players a more modern experience. Whilst this new season will not be taking the huge leap into the latest Minecraft version, it will be officially updating to a 1.12 backend (as this is currently the most stable and suitable option for our Skyblock server without any compromises). This change really speaks for itself. Between 1.8 and 1.12, Minecraft has added a boat load of new content, all of which should fit perfectly over on our Skyblock server. As of current, we plan on keeping 1.8 combat as the 1.9+ combat is still too controversial for us to be comfortable with.

Updated Economy
The Skyblock economy has remained unchanged for 3 consecutive seasons. We understand that gameplay can get extremely repetitive constantly grinding the same mobs and crops season after season. With the 1.12 update, now seemed the perfect time to change some metas! With the implementation of new spawners alongside new crops (Beetroot) players will find themselves a brand new economy to play around with. The crop and spawner meta has now been completely changed.

Island Top Sorting
Players of our Skyblock community are very familiar with the '/is top' command. This command will open a GUI displaying the top 50 islands on the server sorted by their Island Level. Of course, Island Level is not everything when it comes to Skyblock. This new feature allows players to toggle between 5 different top lists, allowing players to compete for multiple different aspects. These lists include: Island Level, Island Value, Generator level, Spawners Placed and Hoppers Placed.

Quality Of Life Changes
This upcoming Skyblock season will bring forward many additional smaller changes (such as the ability to queue boosters so that it will instantly activate once the previous one has finished). Players can also expect to see a new highly requested Island Permission 'Fly'. With this permission, players are able to define exactly who can fly on their island. This new permission opens up a wide range of applications, such as the ability to create parkour courses (which players can not cheat on)! New island statistics are also on there way to the /island info GUI. Players are now able to view how many lava-fishing catches have been made on an island, and also view how many generator blocks have been mined!

Blast From The Past (Legacy Spawn)
Revisiting old spawns is something that we rarely do on Minecraft Central. A portion of our legacy community has regularly asked for previous spawns to one day make a return. This upcoming season, we are proud to bring back our Season 3 spawn back for a second life! This spawn holds a very important role in Minecraft Central's Skyblock history. Around Season 3 was when our Skyblock server really took off. 5 Years ago when this spawn was active was when a third realm was added to our Skyblock server albeit only 200 players could fit per realm! We are looking forward to seeing this beautiful spawn come back to life for a second time!

It's about time Survival got an announcement! For the past month, behind the scenes we have been hard at work remaking our Survival server from the ground up with some clear goals in mind. The first problem we wanted to address on our Survival server was the gameplay experience. This upcoming season strives to be a purely vanilla Survival experience (no plotworld) making use of the latest and greatest Minecraft version (1.17). For the first time ever on Minecraft Central's Survival, players will be able to claim land and build their empire in an actual survival world whilst enjoying everything the latest version of Minecraft has to offer.

This upcoming season of Survival will be launching this upcoming weekend at exactly: Friday 15th October 3pm MST.

Major Content Changes
- Backend has been updated to 1.17 (Hundreds of new features)!
- Plotworld and plugin have been removed in favour of a more vanilla land claiming system (Golden Shovel & Stick)
- 3 worlds that never reset, alongside a resources world which resets once per week
- New command added '/wild' which allows for a random teleport in the Overworld or Resources World
- Voting Villager has been implemented to much better reward those that help support us
- New command has been added '/pvp' allowing for players to toggle their pvp in any of the worlds (besides spawn)
- All of the warps are now community-created (all players are now able to /setwarp, /delwarp and /warp)
- Those that have access to the disguise perk are now able to disguise as all of the new 1.12+ mobs
- New kit has been added '/kit claim' which will give you a Golden Shovel & Stick
- All of the available Jobs have been updated with the newly added blocks (for example new types of logs)
- /Help has been revamped from the ground up (now displays all of the features our server has to offer)
- Perk which allowed additional plots has been replaced with a new perk 'Automatic Job Switcher'
- Players are able to obtain 'Claim Blocks' via playtime on the server or through the Voting Villager at spawn
- Access to the Nether and End worlds is now done via their vanilla portals (Nether Portal and End Portal)

Claiming System
One of the main things we disliked about our Survival server was the presence of a plotworld. It was clear to us that a Survival server in 2021 should be as close to the vanilla experience as possible, allowing players to enjoy Minecraft the way it was designed. This upcoming season will see players making use of the classic 'Golden Shovel & Stick' claiming system (which you may be familiar with from other servers) to claim land inside a vanilla 1.17 overworld. This new claiming system allows for a much more down to earth Survival experience, giving players the power to create entire towns in their desired location.

Voting Villager & Claim Blocks
Following in the footsteps of our most recent resets, Survival will now become another new home of our unique and custom Voting Villager. This villager will play a very important role on our Survival server, working as a method for players to unlock additional claim blocks. Voting daily and progressing through the voting calendar will be the fastest way to obtain these claim blocks which will allow you to grow your territory and claim more land inside the Survival overworld. Alongside claim blocks, players who vote will also be rewarded a lump sum of ingame money as you progress through the calendar.

[IMG][IMG]
Available Worlds
Starting next season, our Survival server will be home to 5 accessible worlds for players. The Spawn World, The Resources World (40k x 40k), The Overworld (40k x 40k), The Nether (40k x 40k) and The End (40k x 40k). The spawn world is where players will find themselves upon logging in for the first time, and is the hub of the server. The resources world resets once per week (every Friday) and is essentially an overworld designed for the sole purpose of collecting resources and grinding your jobs. The Overworld is where players can claim land and build their homes. This world will never reset. Neither the Nether or End will reset throughout the entire season. Both of these worlds are accessible via their vanilla methods (Creating a nether portal and finding the End portal) meaning there are no warps for these worlds.

[IMG][IMG]
Toggleable PvP
As stated above, this upcoming season we are opting for a much more vanilla Survival experience. This upcoming season will give players the ability to toggle their PvP on/off wherever they desire (excluding the spawn world). This allows for a much more dynamic PvP system on our Survival server. Players can now essentially create their own PvP arenas in their claims, setup their own private warp, and battle their friends to death the classic way!

Community Owned Warps
There will be no public server-owned warps next season of Survival. The privilege of creating warps is now entirely in the hands of our community! All players will have the ability to create up to 10 warps which will be accessible to all players on the server. Players are able to use the command '/warps' to bring up a nice GUI displaying all available community warps. Setup a town, create a shop, create a PvP arena, do whatever your heart desires and make it accessible to the general public with our brand new custom player warp system! We look forward to seeing the unique ideas our Survival community comes up with.

[IMG][IMG]
Intuitive Help Interface
One of the things we feel we have never done very well on MCC is explain ingame what features our servers have to offer. Currently all over the network, the help command will return the player a short list of URLs to our website. Whilst not completely useless, it was clear that it wasn't enough and some change was needing to happen. Starting with this upcoming Survival reset, upon using the command '/Help' ingame, players will be greeted with a clear GUI detailing all the features the server has to offer, along with information on each feature and how they work. This is a game-changing aspect for new players who are checking the server out for the first time and need to get a foot on the ladder! We highly recommend checking this GUI prior to starting your adventure.

[IMG][IMG]
Latest Version (1.17)
And finally, the best for last! Previously our Survival server had been running on 1.12 (which is now almost 5 years old!). For the first time in many many years, Minecraft Central's Survival server will be updated and running the latest and greatest Minecraft version! Moving forward, we plan to keep our Survival up to date with the latest version so that players can enjoy a true online vanilla Survival experience that makes use of all features the game has to offer. This update alone brings hundreds of new features into the server which i'm sure you're all familiar with! We are extremely excited to take this step into the future, and look forward to seeing everyone play with these new mechanics which have been added.
