This needs to Stop NOW!

For all off the people that play sky wars this is not good. But there is really no way to fix it. The server barley has an anti cheat if any and the staff focus on the sub servers which I am grateful about. So all that can really be done here is anti cheat because I see staff play SW but that doesn't solve the issue completely. Hackers will keep coming.

 

Very well spoken! Yesterday I decided to play a few games of skywars and in the hub/game there was at least one fly hacker and it’s really annoying, but all we can do to help rid them is just report them, it’s really easy report tickets not gonna lie.

 

I would also like to make a statement. Usually, when we want to spectate a game, we avoid talking in public chat in order not to alert any hackers. Although it may be true that we are not online 24/7 on minigames, but when we are, we mostly try to avoid talking for this reason.

 

Fly hackers have really ruined skywars for me and a lot of other players because its just so unfair and there is literally nothing you can do about it and at least when their was just hackers scaffolding you could shoot the dirt from beneath them and kill them buy with a fly hacker its super unfair and it ruins it for everyone else.

There are actually more staff members actively playing Skywars and catching hackers than there seem to be. Sometimes we play on our alts so that we can find more hackers instead of seeing some suspicious players leaving the game after noticing us. It's also not easy to avoid talking all the time on the staff account since it's not nice to not reply when a friend or another player says hi.

In fact, there are also more staff members in your video or screenshot than there seem to be. This is also going to be the case in future games, it's just unnoticeable in most cases. :D

 

I'm sure staff are doing the best they can to fix this issue. I understand where you're coming from as it may be frustrating to have hackers ruin your experience. However, this is a part of almost every game. There isn't much they can do. Reiterating what I said before - I'm sure staff are doing the best they can to fix this issue.

 

Very well said! These last few days I've been taking my time playing mainly Skywars to help with the fly hacker issue. Best thing normal players can do is to notify a staff member or file a report ticket. These hackers can be very annoying but we have to do our part as well. I appreciate you for making this thread and bringing attention to this much needed issue. I'll make sure to share this around with some of my friends!

Great forum post! As you know this has been going around a lot! Very interesting and eye-opening video. I have seen even more hackers on MCC due to the players leaving, more hackers filing in, soon at that rate, it will be more hackers than legit players. #SaveMCC

 

As much as I appreciate your effort, and trust me I really do, for the meantime, nothing that we seem to talk about gets fixed.. Or so it seems.

I've vocally spoken about it numerous times. I've made an entire post about it, and how it can be fixed (https://mccentral.org/community/thr...ad-and-it-can-be-easily-fixed.2103/#post-6344).

Unfortunately, so far, there seems to be no attention towards this topic from the owner's perspective. One thing I will mention, however, is that when the new forums launched, and almost every post was about hackers, there was a subtle update done to the anti-cheat. The results? Well.. it sucked. It let hackers fly uncontrollably, but also removed some restrictions for the legitimate players.

While I would praise removing lags for legitimate players, I think making it even easier than ever for hackers to gain an unfair advantage is not a "Good Update" in my book. But hey, who knows.

 

It's important to recognize hackers will always find a way to hack, even with the best of anticheats and the most vigilant of staff. I usually play a lot of Skywars, and I do believe the hacker issue has gotten worse in the past few months. However, I am also dedicated to helping eradicate it, and I always do my best to report the players in question.
If everyone pitched in, we could easily resolve the hacker problem for good; the best anticheat is an active community and an engaged staff team working with them, in my opinion. In the two months I have been using the reports system, I have submitted over 600 accepted report tickets, and nothing's stopping anyone else from doing the same.

Overall, I do get where you're coming from, but it can't be all up to the staff team. The community needs to stand up for itself and make change, even if the owners are busy with other issues.

 

I see a staff member in 1/4 games of skywars I am in. The problem with flyers is bad but it has not ruined the server in any way. I love skywars. You will get that one game when someone fly’s to you and kills you but in the end it’s just a game.

 

If I'm being honest, the hackers in Survival Games are far more annoying. Not because they are more common, they're nowhere near as common in SG as they are on Skywars. However SG is meant to run for a lot longer than a game of Skywars. One game can literally take up to half an hour to complete. Imagine playing for that long, only to be killed by someone literally flying in circles around you in deathmatch.

Though I will admit, the endless amount of hackers in skywars is pretty bad. And they say we don't need minigames staff...

Also worth mentioning I previously brought this up a few weeks ago. It gained a lot of support; in fact, it was topping the recent threads page for almost a week, before getting locked because there was "no point keep it open".

It's honestly a miracle to me they haven't done anything to fix the changes. There is many, MANY things they could have done to address this issue. It's completely idiotic to avoid something like this for so long, and just try to censor anyone who brings it up. Even from a business perspective. They've likely lost thousands of dollars to people quitting due to lack of an anticheat over the years.

 

I am actually very proud of the Staff in the instant of hackers swarming Skywars. 9 times out of 10. A staff member is spectating games and watching out for hackers, or they respond and join games to ban the hacker/hackers. They go out of their way to help us and ban them. And players give them grief for not being in game, or banning hackers, or taking too long to deal with reports. The fact that they are trying means the world to me and probably so many other players. I just wanted to point out that it is noticed and appreciated. I have seen each staff member at least once in a skywars game helping out the community. We should do our parts by recording and reporting these hackers and dealing with them out own way.

It's true that they work hard to rid the server of hackers, and kudos to them for doing so, but this issue is above them. Regular Moderators have no control over the AntiCheat, or the AntiProxy. This is something that only the Owners can improve on. Think about it; staff have likely banned hundreds of thousands of hackers, and there is still just as much hackers as ever, if not more. The AntiCheat clearly doesn't do it's job, and the AntiProxy doesn't block VPNs. Even if staff do play Skywars occasionally to get rid of a few hackers, what about all the times they're not there? Or the times where there's no moderators online at all? There is supposed to be an AntiCheat for a reason.

 

Hackers really ruin skywars.
