Hi all, So some of my friends have very long minecraft names. For example, @TheKingOfTurtlez. :) If I want to message him, i have to do /msgf thekingofturtlez. Believe me when i say that it is a pain not being able to do /msgf theking (shortened name) or even /r. I have to type it out every single time. I think that /msgf should be able to do what /msg can do, and i think that we should be able to do /r or something else that replys to friend messages. Please share your thoughts! Thank you guys! <3
Yessss it will be so much better with these. /mf /rf /wf would be aamazing. Difficult names won’t be hard to msg if this was added.
Howdy bro! I like this idea of shortening the IGN’s in /msgf, as most of my friends have long IGN’s as well, especially when you can’t press tab to complete the name. The only problem that people would run into is similar IGN’s. You used TheKingOfTurtlez as an example, and that you would type in “TheKing.” There is nothing wrong with the username, but if someone with the IGN that starts with “TheKing” like “TheKingKong,” you might accidentally send a message to Kong instead Turtlez, which would cause you to type the whole IGN, or at least more of it anyways. I know that the chances of people with similar IGN’s on someone’s friends list are very slim, but you never know what could happen. However I do respect idea, and I do think that there should be a simpler way to msg friends in game. Kind of what @OriAlfi said, there should be different commands to reply or message friends. So overall, I’m 0.5+ on this idea. <3
I definitely think that the friends system in general could use a revamp to make it more intuitive and user-friendly. @Elecctricc has an amazing thread here regarding some tangible changes in commands to be used across the social system. I would encourage you to review it and check out the various suggestions, additions, and improvements that other users have commented, as these ideas have been discussed and vetted in the past.
Hi all, I am so happy that you guys like this idea. I have quoted TorontoCanada because of what he said. TorontoCanada, You said that if 2 people start with the same IGN, it could get confusing. You said that if i put Theking and i meant to msg thekingofturtlez but i message thekingkong, i could just do /msgf thekingo. That way it will go the king of turtlez. Unfortunately, I don't think anything can be done about having to type out names. As far as /rf or a similar command to reply, I have been wanting something like that for a while! +1
