This is something I have been thinking about for a while now, personally my computer likes to loose connection all the time and I think being able to go spec my friends if theyre in game still would be a pretty sweet feature like in arenapvp. Thoughts?
Hi Amaya c; <3 I really agree with this idea because especially when you've been kicked from a game and you're the party leader, it would be good to be able to spectate the game to know when you can rejoin again without having to wait for the people in your party to tell you to do so. I can't see the harm in having this added! +1 Have a great day hehe <3
Hey! In arena pvp you can already use /spectate {Player} and watch them. I like the idea but I see it being most useful in UHC as if you die early or before border starts to shrink, it is super hard to find someone to spectate and watch. Its a -1 for just a subserver duel, but a massive +1 for UHC or minigames, when you want to watch your friends.
yeah, I agree that's a cool idea but the thing is the spectate feature would have to support bungeecord which could be a bit trickier because you would have to first create something that tracks the player in whatever mini server they're in, for example, a skywars game on let's say the "Fungi World" map. then you would have to bring that player into that server, which could cause more lag because the mini servers have low memory because only 12 players are playing on them at a time. introducing more players to the server even if they are a spectator could cause more lag because would if 20 players joined and spectated an original 12 players? that could cause more lag ingame, but again I think it is a cool feature and if there is a way it could be added I would totally vote for it. and yes forgranted it would be cool on such and wouldn't cause the same problems I listed above since its one big server not a bunch of smaller ones.
The admin team decided to remove the ability to /tp to people in UHC because spectators helped their friends to find people or lead them to caves etc which is why you most likely won't be getting that ability. However, with minigames I can definitely agree that there needs to be some command or GUI ability to see all the games that are being played at that time and have the ability to click on the one you want to spectate. But, this would be hard to do with the current system as each game being played under a minigame is all separate on another database (I think), so its technically impossible or very very hard to be able to set up a spectator system, which is why we need a minigames update with a brand new backend.
