I was wondering if anyone else was noticing a significant decline in the amount of tokens you get when using mining backpacks. The difference is so significant I would almost consider it a bug. When mining with a backpack, I am getting maybe a token or two every minute. When I mine without a backpack, I am getting about 6 or 7 tokens a minute. This is also not just a one time thing either, as this is the case literally every time I mine, to the point that if I want tokens, I just take the backpacks out of my inventory. Has anyone else noticed this issue, or is this just happening to me?
I have not experienced this myself, but you have to think of every factor, 1: It could be the mine your in, since you can have up to 50% bonus tokens. 2: It could be your pickaxe, since you can have all from token detector 1-10. 3: It's all percentage based, which means one minute you could be lucky with 10 tokens, and another minute 2-3. Hope this helps you, if not I would suggest making a bug report.
That makes sense, however it has been on the same mine, with the same token detector and bonus token levels the entire time. Again I am not sure if it is really a bug or just wildly varying percentages. Just seems very odd to me how drastic the difference in tokens is between having a backpack in my inventory and not.
Perhaps it's just your luck then. If you still suspect it, try holding a backpack in like 3-5 mining sessions of a few minutes each, then repeat, but without the backpack.
Not sure what the issue is, but I have tried what Pootis suggested and did find a noticeable difference. Mined for 5 minutes with and without 2 times each and my tokens collected went up by almost 50% average when backpacks were not in my inventory. This could very well be just within the margin of "luck", but it is interesting to see a change like that every time.
Try mining for 1 Hour with and without and compare the differences. If there is a considerable difference despite the significant amount of time, there is a likely chance that something may actually be wrong.
I have put more time into mining with and without backpacks in my inventory. The longer I mine I find that it evens out to an insignificant difference between the two. I still find it a little strange that in shorter mining sessions, there was a significant difference. Like you previously stated, that could just be considered the luck of tokens.
Here's a tip, in case you want to focus on token gathering: Invest in a Prison (Upgradeable) Pick on Token Detector, upgrade your private mine's Token Luck, or be lucky and find the Token Luck enchantments. I suggest having a separate pickaxe where you don't focus on Fortune if you really want to stay as much as you can mining before your inventory fills up.
I have a pick that has Fortune, Token, and Blast all at level 10 and a full set of Miners Delight/Token Luck 2 so I haven't really been struggling for tokens. Just made the thread more to see if anyone else was also noticing a weird trend with backpacks and tokens affecting each other. Appreciate the advice though!
