SURVIVAL GUIDE FOR STARTERS From ___Sean___ An Active Survival Community Member I have noticed that Survival has many threads to help you make money, help you learn new commands. Helps you to be the best player but no simple basic tutorial on how to get started, so that's where I come in :D In this nice long detailed thread I will help you start your survival experience on what to do and where to go. I will aim this guide more towards rookies I guess so I will not be teaching about the ranked perks ect to help this is just straight out for everyone I know that there is more than 1 goal in Survival so I will not lead this guide towards one goal but whether you become the Best Builder on the server, the Best Shop keeper, #1 on Quest Leaderboards, the best PVPer or more we all start in the same place, Here: Here is a step by step guide on how to start. Once you arrive at spawn you will notice that you have a full set of iron tools and armour ready to get you started on your survival journey. If you have a rank you may choose a better kit if you like with /kit but for now we will be using this. STEP ONE Making a Plot There isn’t a main order you need to do this but I think this will be the most helpful order. The first thing you need to do is type /p Auto. This will help you find a plot that is close by spawn but available. If you manage to stumble upon a plot that is unclaimed type /p claim. Test if it is claimed with /p info! To return to the plot you made type /p home or /p h. STEP TWO Setting Up Your Plot (Optional) Congrats! You have now made a plot. Your plot will be like your land, claim, house, base, territory, whatever you want to call it. Only you can build on your plot so nobody can grief but if you would like some friends for your plot do /p add (username) so they can help build. This will make it so they can build when you are online. If you trust them enough and you are fine with them building if you are offline do /p trust (username) remove them by doing /p remove (username). If you want a player to not be able to enter your plot do /p ban (username). If you want NOBODY to enter your plot do /p ban *. These next few steps are optional, so feel free to skip these steps if you like for now. Now let's make a name for your plot! You can do this by doing /p name set (name) so let’s say you want your plot to be called MyHouse do /p name set MyHouse. After you have done that you can change the spawn point for your plot if you want it somewhere else that isn’t the middle slab of the boundary of your plot do /p set home where you are standing. To set it back to the default position do /p set home none. If you want a different colour grass or plants or leaves etc do /p set biome (biome) to make your plot that biome. Example if I want my plot to be a jungle biome do /p set biome jungle. Now that your plot is set lets advance to step two! STEP THREE Gathering Resources Now you can’t do much with an empty plot, can you? So let's gather some resources! Type /warp resources and chose an option from either A) The Overworld, B) The Nether or C) The End Let's do overworld for now. Click the Grass Block on the GUI and you will be teleported to the overworld! The overworld resets every day and changes seed every two weeks so there is no need to build anything here, its straight out for gathering resources from forests, mines etc. Now this is where it begins like always, cutting down your first tree! Tips: If you are struggling to find wood as it is all cut down, try behind spawn of the overworld as it is generally more full. Let’s Spend some time here gathering resources! Here is shall we say a list off things you might need to start Wood Logs Sugar Cane Iron Seeds Cobblestone Saplings Pumpkins Coal Anything from mining (Lapis, Diamond, Gold etc) Bucket of Water Bones Anything else that you believe will help you! Protip: Do not try to get obsidian from caves, they come in Large quantities in the end. Do /warp end STEP FOUR Money Making Once you have your stuff feel free to go back to your plot using /p h and make a small house or cave or anything to store your stuff you have collected in. It is up to you to keep it organised or not. Now perhaps it is time we earned our first bit of money. If you collected iron for a water bucket and seeds and perhaps even some bones then you can start a small wheat farm. You can then sell the wheat you farm to the shop with /sell. With the $250 you have already try and buy some starting crops off other players for a farm. One other way to earn money quick is to sell wood logs to the market by using /sell. This is very easy to get and very easy to do and earn $20-$42 a log. If you have any spare stuff you don’t need there is a chance you can sell it to the shop if not do /ah sell (price) to sell it on the auction house where anyone on the server can buy it! If you managed to get string and sticks you can make a fishing rod to sell fish to the shop for pretty reasonable prices ($300 - $10,000 a fish) One More Tip: Check /c and see if there are any quests you can easily complete for a bit of money, if not go to step five. STEP FIVE Well, It really is up to you :) Now let's say you have now made $2000, Congrats! Now there isn’t a main goal from here it is what you decide but if you want to come on some leaderboards here are some you can work on: /Baltop: Become the richest and most wealthy player on the server! /Statstop: Get the most kills on the server in /warp pvp. /Quest: Come the best quest champion on the server and stay up to date! Other things to do / work on include: Making a shop: Make a shop for the community so members of the community to lazy to explore can just buy items from you! A tutorial of how to set up your shop can be found here! https://mccentral.org/community/threads/how-to-use-mccentrals-chestshop.141/ Making a Public Spawners plot: Buy a tonne of spawners and help the community with /c, item drop collecting and more. Buy spawners from /shop! Make an automatic farm: Use cactus, spawners and hoppers to make money whilst AFK!! Make a Pretty Plot: Get many materials and make one of the nicest looking plots on the server Plot: ID 2;-1 Owner: @Ankh Trusted: skywarss Explore The World: Travel far with boats, horses, through new biomes and mine in caves and get resources! Have fun with the community: Make events, competitions and hang out with friends! Many more options are available to you! :D Perhaps you can do something nobody else has even done before! Hey Whats This thing that is being announced in chat? Envoys are happening in 15 minutes, Boss battle is happening in 30 minutes! What is this? These are scheduled PVP events that happen every 4-8 Hours Envoys: Envoys are events that are held in /warp PVP every 4 hours! This is where there are 5 chests randomly spawned in the PVP arena! Sparks will spawn above the chests to help you! You must race to these chests and try and get the most! Each chest contains one of the following: Sharpness IV Sword, Protection IV Armour, 4 Stacks of EXP Bottle, 5 Golden Apples, $10,000, $20,000, $30,000, Random Spawner, 64 Emeralds, 64 Diamonds, 64 Iron and 32 Hoppers! Kill other players to steal their loot. Escape to from PVP quickly to store your stuff! Note: You do not have to open chests, just simply left click the chest in order for it to go into your inventory, (Money goes straight to your balance) Boss Battle: Boss battles happen every 8 hours in /warp boss! (Exactly 1 Hour after every 2nd envoy) This is an all out PVP game mode with 1 objective! To kill the boss! Everyone is given full enchanted diamond armour, diamond sword and bow as well as 8 regular golden apples. When you die you get all your golden apples back. The boss starts with 2000 health points and you must get it to 0 health points. If nobody kills it in 15 minutes the game ends! The person with most amount of damage dealt to the boss gets a boss key! 2nd Place Gets $4000. 3rd Place Gets $3000. 4th Place Gets $2000 5th Place Gets $1000! If you kill someone in the boss battle you get a strength potion for your advantage! I hope this helped you start your survival adventure! Was wondering why I was mentioned lol. Nice thread though. Funny story about my plot, I never actually asked for it to be moved to spawn. Don't even know exactly when they moved it, just joined one day after months and it was no longer in the corner of the world not that I'm mad but rip corner plot.
