PvP on this server really has its low points in these past couple years, especially with the whole getting stuck in anvils,carpet and mid air BS that went on for far too long. Whereas this has been fixed other problems have arisen! One problem that is particularly retarded is this new phenomenon where two players are sword fighting.. both can die. Yeah.. what?? This isn't a game mechanic that should be tolerated at all. Just to explain this one, if two players are fighting and get a sword hit on one another at the same time, both die. It's a draw! This makes asking someone to 1v1 obsolete. If we want a draw we will have 10 matches! The second problem i'd like to touch base on is the 1.13+ aqua-man shit we have going on. Players in Minecraft versions 1.13+ are able to swim so much faster than players in previous versions. Case study: You're chasing someone on a SG map say Breeze Island. They will not stop running so in desperate attempt to save their life they jump in the water. You're bowing them down, they're on one heart as they swim away. Then they disappear! Out of sight! This actually happens too often and it would be great for this game rule to be altered. Now of course there's the simple fix: "But why don't you just go into 1.13?". Well because the server is 1.8 based then there's the change in block sizes such as glass panes causing a player to get stuck. And for me personally that god damn auto jump lmao Third problem! This one is lasting the test of time, I know that it's slowly being dealt with it's an issue nonetheless. Since this new anti-cheat has been released there has been an improvement to game-play such as running and knock-back etc. as stated earlier, however there's been a major flux in noticeable hackers! KA, scaffolding and even fly hackers in mini-games. I understand that this is a result of trying to fix another problem and that this will take time to hit the nail on the head although this isn't a new dilemma in regards of knowing which client to crunch down on. The last anti cheat was up for a long time despite a heavy backlash from players. I'm sure that a trial and error would go down well with the player base if it meant finding a better solution. I think this new one is better than the last although it does have it's faults which to some degree is acceptable Fourth Problem, when in games like sky wars or cake wars when placing a block, it disappears causing a death plummet. Very annoying and has lost me multiple games Fifth problem. This one is a long standing one also! Only in CTF have I experienced invisible players, bit of a pain in the *** and needs to be fixed. I agree that the quality of the pvp on the server has been on a decline over the past few years, and some of these problems you highlighted have arisen just recently. A week ago, I personally feel like there weren't as many people swimming fast underwater with 1.14 and there weren't as many fly hackers, but now things are different. The owners changed things with the anticheat, so I guess it's a good sign they're altering it, because that shows they're at least giving it attention, even if it doesn't fully benefit us. Hopefully things get better in the future and personally I see things improving from here. If you run into hackers again, your best chance is to just report them here so that they get banned.
Well yes but actually no. This has been a long standing problems which is putting out a fire with gasoline. One problem is fixed by opening doors to 2 more, hail hydra! The water problem which i'm glad you brought up is only visible recently because people would get stuck when they tried to swim. And also half the time by the time a person is banned, damage is done and they've ruined the fun game play which we are here for -Prime (Matt)
the anti cheat is pretty shit and i know friends who are falsley banned, i think owners should invest in a new anti cheat, but this one is perfectly good but not high tier
I'd have to disagree again with this. Players are not being kicked which is why it's not fine. The game play has definitely improved however hackers just aren't being banned! The thing with non-hacking players being banned is generally because some staff don't understand the difference between hacking and the disadvantages of ping/ lagg - Prime (Matt)
if you ever notice anyone hacking you can record or send a screenshot, if its visible in that way, in a report. Thats really the only thing you can do sadly as well as notifying a mod to get on to see said hacker, however, thats more noticeable.
Yes you're absolutely right. Although a player flying at a kabillion & 80 mp/h should maybe seem fishy to the server, no? Some things just seem too ridiculous to not be caught! Players who record do generally get the hackers banned although the impact on the simple happy game play is ruined. I was playing a game yesterday where there was someone capping within 20 seconds of the game started! Occasionally I'd see him flash past but every game he yoinked the flag and would cap before anyone could hit him
i do agree that speed detection should be implemented in games where flying isn't allowed since its the fastest mode of transportation outside of insane speed pots but even then those aren't in this server
Big issue recently. CTF is full of speed hackers that finish the game in under 30 seconds. skywars is full of fly hackers, and survival games is so-so. I really think the anticheat needs fixing; it's massive flaws are making the server unenjoyable to play on. Then we have the staff. Staff was actually decent couple years ago. I don't know what happened, but the staff is like... shit. They aren't very trained in identifying hacks, so only the most obvious ones are banned. I don't know what to suggest, but something needs to be done. Soon.
