I've been playing prisons since season 1 now and a lot has changed. Prisons has gone from actual prisons where you have to either mine to get money or make a mining profit shop to buy spawners afk, buy more spawners, afk etc. To make mining more rewarding for the players who mine a ton I suggest a levelling system gets added to pickaxes. I read some other kids thread a second ago mentioning a "harvest hoe" type of pickaxe (it doesn't break) but to make it a bit better add a mana or some sort of levelling system which gives you "points" for blocks mined. After acquiring enough points you should be able to do /upgrade on the pickaxe and level up certain perks such as Increased ore drop rates maybe make it 1% per level, and maybe an upgrade that gives you more points per block mined and a perk which gives you a slight sell multiplier maybe? I'm not into formatting so srry if this is hard to read if you have any comments or additional suggesting to add please do so.
Hello, Chirashi The main reason this might become an issue is a part of prisons is the pickaxes breaking and requiring you to acquire a new pickaxe, but i do agree that having an unbreakable pickaxe might have more people mining more often if their pickaxes were infinite, so i*m definately for this idea, great suggestion! Hey, I do like this idea to some degree, but how would you get this pick, would it be from a key or something? I kinda get confused about the part of upgrades and sell multipliers, but I would also like to add another idea related to mining. I think that there should be a miner custom enchant that has a good chance to drop double the loot which would make mining less time consuming which I think is the general reason that people don't really like to just waste away their day mining. Yo yo yo ok so first of all @VKj you can just like repair pick for 10 tokens so we don;t need unbreakable. Yes mining is fun af I do it for 16 hours a day at times but it can definatly be more fun. I think adding custom enchants to picks is still the best way to improve mining. With this bigger mines and they reset when 50% blocks are mined not based on a timer. I do agree with an upgrade system tho but the upgrade system allows you to gain a cusotm enchant or level of that enchant on your pickaxe.
This is a really interesting idea which I feel could certainly be a cool change to prison. What I have some issue with, is how the donator roles would come into play. Since currently, we get kits that give us a donator role pickaxe, with higher enchants based on our donator rank, I feel it would be difficult to make a pickaxe system for this, where donator roles are not losing out on a better pickaxe, but lower roles are also not forced to keep buying higher rank pickaxes, as to not waste their time mining with and upgrading a low tier pickaxe. Overall I like the idea, and I feel that giving more reason to mine, and making the mining more fun would greatly better the prison experience.
I definitely like the idea of changing up the way mining works to make it more interesting. I'm not sure I completely agree with this suggestion as it sounds like it could get complicated for the average player. And similar to what @AyeItsBeck said, this could cause the whole donator situation to also be more complicated. Here is what I would suggest for changing up how the mining factor of prison could be more interesting. I think a skill leveling system would be easier to implement and easier for the average player to understand. The more you mine the more reward you get. However, I do believe the prestige system would need to be reworked if something like this was to be implemented. This is because mining is directly required in order to prestige. Meaning anyone trying to prestige will all end up leveling equally within this new skill system. This suggestion would definitely need to be thought out more, but I think rewarding people directly for the amount they mine would be beneficial to making the whole experience more rewarding. Currently, as the season progresses it appears people aren't required to do as much mining to simply rank up. Whether they are scamming for money or making their money by working the economy, people seem to mine less and less as the season progresses. A skill leveling system would reward those who are just trying to progress via the old fashion way of mining.
I honestly think that mining needs a buff to help combat people with spawners. Having pickaxes that are more powerful would be a good way to balance it, but in my opinion, the sell price of ores would be a more effective way to buff mining.
Oh, I totally agree! It almost feels like the economy outpaces the sell price. As the season drags on the amount of money you make from mining becomes negligible. Toward the end here I was focusing on getting blocks mined to just continue to prestige, and the amount of money made from hours of mining straight was virtually nothing. At least compared to what could be made elsewhere in the economy.
