Private Minigame Servers Hello Everyone! As many of you know the server is very minigame full. But the downside of these, is that you are unable to create your own minigame server and every game is a public match. And my suggestion completely opposes the term "public". --- Similar to Hypixel (Of Course). --- These private servers could help in situations in which you want to: 1. Start your own tournament 2. 1v1 a player 3. Do a guild vs guild battle 4. just mess around with special features. 5. play games without hackers. --- Features these servers should and could include: 1. Map Customization Select whatever map you want 2. Whitelisting Stop anyone else from joining the server, allow select people in. 3. Different challenge modes You can play the minigames with special scenarios. 4. Fun Commands These are features which just make the game much more fun to play. For example you can have a low gravity mode or even a game mode where everyone has super high speed. --- Private servers can allow for such more that's already allowed on the server. There's probably even more stuff you can do than I stated. Now of course the stats in these games won't save. That's about all I can think of, I'd love to everyone's thoughts on this. [ p i r t e ]
Hey, I like this idea, but it can have a few downsides to it. Hypixel is a very very large minecraft server with over 90,000 players at a time, while MCC is around 2,000 players (minimum). If the server allowed this idea many players would just play private games, and public games would be abandoned and it wouldn't be as continuous. Imagine this, we add Private Mini-games, and all the public Skywars games get abandoned and no one plays it. However, more people will play the server because of this, hackers can also just join these private games at will. Adding private games would create more Community Events ideas, but in the long run, it doesn't seem worthwhile. I do like the idea, but I believe it should be restricted to ranked users like Legend+ and of course all staff ranks. I believe that if we restrict certain ranked users to create these private matches this could fix the hacker situation and public games could stay the same. What I'm saying by this is, if you are a Legend+ ranked user you can create these matches and invite these lower ranked members and still play. 1. Restrict this to Legend+ ranked users 2. Keep it staff only invite 3. Do not add "Private" matches at all +0.5 Have a nice day! -FourNut
As mentioned by @FourNut, I feel that implementing these private games could be detrimental as it drops the player count from the public games, which already see some games struggle to be filled. I do think that some of your individual ideas are interesting though, and could be implemented on their own. For example, your idea regarding choosing the game's map could be added to games like Skywars, as it already exists in CTF. Players could vote for a map (from a randomly selected list of 4-5) in the lobby while waiting for the minigame to start, and the one with the highest votes would be chosen. Additionally, these private games would really only be attractive if there were enough players to sufficiently fill a game. For example, Skywars probably wouldn't be that fun if there's less than ~7-8 players in the game. This means that players might spend a lot more time in the lobby trying to recruit others to join a game, meaning more spam in chat and less time actually spent playing the minigame. The other point you brought up was for Guild vs. Guild games, which I think could be a really interesting idea. However, a viable workaround for this that currently exists is making a party with the members of the guilds who want to participate in the game, then joining the game so all of the players are in the same one.
This could be a good idea if implemented correctly - and I'm going to try to avoid repeating myself what's said above me. Now the server already has a relatively low population for minigames, alot of games numbers are spoofed to give a false sense of activity however if these private games were to come to the game then the minigame population gets divided even smaller. Not to mention the expenses for paying for more servers and with the low chance that these private games would be populated, in my opinion; I don't think it would be incredibly economic. That's not to say that this isn't a good idea however, I myself have wanted to be able to verse my friends privately but I don't believe it is the right time to do so, given how the numbers aren't favoring the longevity of these private matches. At the moment the developers should focus on gathering more players rather than dividing the minigame population :) Just my thoughts. - Elecctricc.
As others have said the division of making things smaller into private games would be complicated, so I feel that just being in party's where you can still play with your friends is enough for now.
Hey, I'm kinda on the fence for this idea, I believe adding private servers would be very beneficial for a minigame like Survival Games, because of guilds and the recent return of sg clans, it would allow the clans to join a game just for them to conduct clan battles, allowing them to not have to worry about having some members of the clan dying due to players who are not apart of the clan they are cbing, which could cause a disadvantage to them if they have less members. Also it would prevent regular players or smaller teams from being killed by the clans. However I also agree with the replies above, that if this was added it would take away a good amount of players from minigames, and it would make it harder to get into full games. Another issue that is a smaller one, but still a somewhat valid one is the issue of moderation of these "private servers', would it be similar to party chat where anything said is only punishable if reported, and their is no filter, or would it be like regular chat, with a filter and anything said is punishable by staff either if they witness it or if someone reports it? At the end of the day, I feel like this could be beneficial for survival games, due to sg clans and guilds having battles with other clans/guilds and forming large teams, however I don't think it would work for the other minigames.
