From how I see it, the community part in mccentral.org/community is kind of pointless, considering how every url in the navigation bar goes to a /community link (and even mccentral.org itself redirects to the /community link). Would make more sense to remove it in my opinion, to make URLs shorter. Would also make things look more professional, since then things like /community/rules would just be /rules, and such. Shouldn't be too hard to move everything down one directory, and from what I can see there isn't much in the website's home directory that would make this an issue, however could be wrong. Also should probably add a link to https://mccentral.org/bans in the navigation bar instead of just a forum link, to make it more easily findable. (I know this is how it was on the old website but just think it would do better in the navigation bar, would make for easier quick access)
+1 I find myself using the navigation bar a lot instead of just using the links on the forums. Although it wouldn’t make it easier, I think it would make it cleaner.
Hey Ankh! So personally, the whole remove community part does nothing for me because I have the site on my bookmarks for my web browser. But with the bans, I can agree with you there. As a Skywars player who records and reports hackers, I always find it a bit tedious to go into the forums and scope out the submit player report sub-forum. Although it isn't too much of a necessary change, it would be nice.
Not going to be changing this anytime soon as everything is setup in the community directory. Its just more organised that way on our backend, Xenforo is installed in the /community directory Bans is setup in the /bans directory Countdown page is setup in the /countdown directory
Hello, I agree with AlexMarkey, XenForo (The Forums Software) made all of this, they put in those links so it was easier for the community. They added for it to be more organized, and so it looks more professional. If you need any help, you can contact me on discord at 4Nut#2232! Good Day!
It's not even a feature, you literally just replied without even reading the ORIGINAL THREAD. For god's sake.
I've messed around with Xenforo a bit in the past and I don't really think it makes a difference for the community since they don't see the backend of the setup of the site. I understand where you're coming from though, since I too find shorter links "cleaner" but the way it's set up makes sense according to different directories. Aesthetically, I agree with you. Realistically, nothing really needs changing.
It doesn't really make a difference. Sure, might be inconvenient for like 5 seconds, but that's all. And as Alex said, it makes it organized in the backend.
