As many of you know, the Minecraft EULA has been in and out of light these past few years. For those who do not know, the EULA is a set of rules from Mojang which define what Minecraft servers are allowed and not allowed to do.

A lot of servers including ourselves have been in close communication with Mojang over the past couple of years. Originally when the EULA was first introduced, it only allowed servers to sell cosmetics (which was not a viable option for many servers to remain online). In April 2020, the EULA was once again updated, meaning that selling ‘P2W’ items is only disallowed if the server is considered ‘competitive’.

Many servers including MCC have been blacklisted by Mojang, but were able to get around this blacklist by using a different DNS record known as ‘SRV’. In the latest Java Edition 1.17 snapshot, this blacklist bypass has been patched!

Since the original implementation of the EULA, all of our network has been transitioning towards casual gameplay, with the final piece being factions (made competitive by the nature of the payouts involved with winning).

Today I am announcing that we will no longer be releasing any new seasons of Factions with any such prizes or payouts. Our Factions server will be transitioning into casual gameplay to ensure we are compliant with the EULA and so that we can proceed to be unblacklisted to ensure that we have a safe future moving forwards with Minecraft Central!

The MCC server is in no way affiliated with Mojang, AB. Nor should it be considered a company endorsed by Mojang, AB.
