alright I bought a new laptop 3 weeks ago, didn't really use it. But today I decided to download Minecraft to my new computer since my other one was old and not working properly. anyways I opened Minecraft and played it, the weird thing I wasn't glitching and especially underwater on the latest version of Minecraft which is 1.14.4. and many people in this server has issues and cant use that latest version. well the crazy thing I could swim fast underwater and 2 people were amazed by it and told me how I was able to swim fast I was confused because how am I the only that could do this and I've never seen someone swim that fast. my sister tried to help me but after like 3 mins of explaining and I explain to her and showed her and now she's confused and now she doesn't understand. can someone explain to me how is this possible??? how come I am not glitching underwater using the lastest version and how come many people cant use that version in this server?? how can I swim fast underwater? also am I the only one using a shield?
Hey there! The only explanation that me and a few friends of mine have is that the anti-cheat is completely turned off. Under normal circumstances, the anti-cheat would kick in and lag you back. However, what helps support this theory is that not only are the water glitches not happening anymore for many players, other players are able to use more hacks than before, such as speed, B-hop, Jesus, and several others. A for the shield, my best guess is yes, not many players PvP with a version that has a shield. I personally play 1.8.9 because it's the best version to play on the server for PvP. Hoped this helped!
omg thanks sooooo much. I was confused and I was already thinking I am god in this server. but still is crazy how not many people have this and and I am one of the few who has this god like ability in this game. will I get banned if people noticed my swimming speed or protecting my self using shield?.....
I'm not too sure about those questions. You would have to ask staff. As a precaution, I would switch to 1.8.9 if you plan on doing PvP.
alright soo this soo called anti-cheat thing is what a lot of people have been talking about here on the forums, I was confused by it.
alright to finish this off, if you are using the latest version of Minecraft and you use the shield will other players see it and especially the players that are using 1.8.9?
Nobody sees the shield but you. 1.8.9 doesn't even have shields so they 100% don't see it. It's also useless and just a thing that appears in newer versions if you haven't figured that out yourself.

As a basic rundown, the “anticheat” is a program that detects hackers playing on the server. Past Problem The problem in the past is that the “anticheat” was detecting legitimate players and thinking that they were hacking. That is what was causing the lagbacks and glitches. The other day Recently, (a few days ago) Alex Markey modified the anticheat (lowered to sensitivity) to stop the lagbacks but in the process opened a way for more hackers to move through the server undetected. Why you’re experiencing issues And the reason that you can swim very fast and use shields is because that is a feature of 1.14. This server currently supports 1.8.9 (the optimized version for PvP) and 1.14 (the optimized version for things like Creative). Current problem It is a known problem that the two version are having issues with each other and is causing problems with PvP between players using 1.8.9 and 1.14. Mainly because you can swim really fast and use shields in 1.14 but it has a “click cooldown” which is bad for PvP. 1.8.9 doesn’t have that cooldown so it’s better for PvP. Solution Unknown. Staff have been notified about the increased swimming speed so we are now more cautious about banning for this. Other players should see a shield if they are 1.9+, but if they play in 1.8 they won't. -===- Question Answered, Thread Locked -===-
