Donator kits in prison used to be pretty good for mining and PVP and now they have become pretty irrelevant with the additions of Kit PVP and the current Pickaxe upgrade system. Any rookie can now get something just as good as a donator which I think is kind of lame since donators typically should have an advantage since they are supporting the server. But the pickaxes now do not matter at all, because they will eventually break, and when you use those pickaxes you aren't upgrading your own when you mine, so there is no point in using other donor pickaxes now. Kit PVP is the exact same gear as kit coal, except kit coal has an irrelevant pickaxe and a God apple which recharges every 24 hours while kit PVP has a bow, 32 arrows and a normal gapple which recharges every 10 min. Kit coal, a lower end donor kit has now become completely irrelevant. What I would like to request is something bonus when claiming these kits, like maybe prison tokens? What do you guys think?
miritelm, Donors already get plenty of perks for every server; we are trying to reduce the amount of 'pay to win' aspects of the game when balancing stuff. Understanding that as a donor, you not only get perks on Prison, but EVERY subserver, as well as kits on EVERY subserver. I think its adequate to say that the donor kits do not need a buff.
Ah I see, I guess that makes sense, I mean it shows that MCC isn't greedy which is always good but IDK my biggest thing is that pickaxes aren't good anymore. But I totally get it, I am just giving some thoughts, thats all. :)
For you to get a good upgradable pickaxe as a rookie, that works just as smooth as an immortal ranked pickaxe (eff. 64; fortune 10) you would have to break roughly 850 thousand blocks in /warp mines with your upgradable pickaxe. That might take a while with minimum upgrades, hence I believe getting 1 immortal pickaxe a day - for immortal donors - is great as it is rn (I’ve taken immortal as an example as it’s the best pickaxe you can get from /kit). Talking about gear, you can get p4 sets on a daily from immortal kit. Other than that, you’d have to enchant them manually (which would take long grinding for levels and/or money to buy them, as well as luck in the enchanting table). I go with Kieren. As of rn things are working just fine and no major tweaks are required imo. -1
I actually think it's good that Donation kits have become irrelevant. Makes it less pay to win, which is what everybody has been asking for.
Going off with the comments above, This does not mean we can't add more stuff to the donator ranks. Of course what we will add will be things that don't affect gameplay and are not p2w/OP. Feel free to still suggest things that we can add to ranks like cosmetics.
One thing I would like is maybe the Legend and Immortal ranks were renamed to be more minecraft related rather than just being generic words? For instance replacing kit legend with kit nether, or immortal with ender or something along the lines of beyond bedrock in minecraft.
I sincerely doubt the name of the rank(s) will be changed as there is 1- no need to and 2- has been that way since it came out. For the bit about donator ranks losing value and becoming irrelevant, that is a good thing in my opinion. There are way too many complaints about the server being p2w and time versus kits are a good balance for that. Additionally, for prison, the immortal kit is still very relevant throughout the season as it provides prot 4 (main pvp armour) every day, which, even if not used, is sold for increasing prices throughout the season.
I see what you’re saying but not everyone has money to spend or wants to spend money on a game. Giving donors a bigger competitive advantage in things like PvP and such would drive players away from the server and go else where. Overall I think the main factor is to not have a pay to win game and keep a competitive playing field for both donors and non donors to keep users coming back to play more.
The server is losing players, and new players tend to quit when they get p2winned on. Now im not blaming people supporting the server as I am myself immortal but the /kit immortal is already OP since you get it for free every 24hrs, and you have all the lower kits to replace your armor while OP pvp. I think the balance is better now as players will most likely become donor, but only if they didn’t already leave. I play prison because i have a chance at winning, and i left kitPvP because the p5 s6 was to OP and you had to buy keys to get it. I think its fine.
I thing you sholld boost diamond and higher so 120 dollars will matter in prisons and every subserver
With the recent focus on servers not being 'P2W', this will not be changing. Especially considering ranks give so many perks. If anything, kits will eventually need to be rebalanced to make them less P2W, as per keeping in align with Mojang EULA. Thread locked.
