/report (nick) reason /votekick (nick) - Vote to remove the hacker from the game.. Doubt: How many moderators go online at Sky Wars? #byehackers #mccentral
I thought /votekick (nick) was a really good idea at first, but then I realized how many players would abuse the command. Thus kicking innocent players from the game, which would make it unfair. /report (nick) is amazing!!! Instead of having one reason to send a report to mute someone there should be more reasons such as hacking. +0.5
The thing with /votekick; I don't think it will ever be added simply because it gives regular players a staff perm that can be easily abused, as Moon said above me. Let's say there's a skilled player and a party of players who dislike said player. They can all /votekick this player out of the game, and it would be unfair because it ruins their gameplay experience. Additionally, only Moderators and up are allowed to kick players on request (Helpers aren't allowed to kick, period, and Mods+ can't kick without being requested), so what makes you think regular players will be trusted with this command? Now let's talk about /report. It's an idea commonly thrown around here, and I can see why. There is a huge hacker problem on MCC and of course we need to be looking for a solution, but this is not a viable one. First of all, how would this command work? Would it log a person's gameplay? Place an invisible entity near them to check for killaura? Pull a staff member to spectate? All of these ideas are flawed, at best, and in the long term will not help reduce the amount of hackers. Your best bet right now is to report hackers via the forums and of course wait for the new AC to be released (hopefully sooner than later). I also made a post about increasing hacking ban times, if that's something you'd like to look into. I see where you're coming from with these ideas, but they won't work on MCC. There is too big of a potential for /kick to be abused, and there is nothing to support adding a /report for gameplay offences. Overall, -1.
"I see where you're coming from with these ideas, but they won't work on MCC. There is too big of a potential for /kick to be abused, and there is nothing to support adding a /report for gameplay offences. Overall, -1." /report (nick) reason - this command exists on all the servers I play, reporting on the forum takes a long time with / report (makes everything more practical)
as zonafer already touched on, adding a “/report” feature has been brought up many times, and discussed a few times in the past w/ higher ups and nobody(as in those higher ups) agreed on that. The” /report” command would be one more thing for staff to worry about. it honestly would just waste staff’s time since not everyone knows that hacks look like, and there can be numerous amounts of false reports, along w/ fake/abuse of the system for reports. Reporting a hacker takes around 5 minutes and helps the community tons when you create a report ticket via forums. if that isn’t really how you roll, you can also join our community discord and name hackers for staff to spectate (this system sorta works like /report, but instead of using a command in game you use discord). if you have not joined, you may always join here! i don’t think votekick would work since it could easily be abused to kick good players and fuck w: their stats hope this kinda explained some things. have a great day!
Hey Cowty! Like Moon Child and Zonafer said, the potential for /votekick to abused is too great for it to be added. However, I do believe a command should be added that would alert a staff member (maybe a helper) to come to spectate a user and determine if they are hacking. Typically in skywars it pretty obvious if someone is hacking - flying or blatant kill aura. This command would be more for player convenience rather than having to go to discord and tag a staff member or alternatively upload a report. I do understand this command poses potential abuse issues so maybe 2-3 individual players would have to report for a staff member to be notified. If a player continuously abused this command it could also be revoked. Another issue that would have to be addressed with this command is how a staff member would be able to join a minigame once it has already started. I'm not a developer so I have no suggestions on how this could be dealt with. Again this is just an idea I had and it is likely there are more issues with this command that I haven't thought of. -Tris
