Recently, I have noticed a problem with players purposely logging out in UHC while in the middle of a fight. I think that this is unfair, especially since they have the ability to come back later, and potentially kill you or other players. I think that one solution to this could be that if a player disconnects in battle, their loot should drop and the player that most recently dealt damage to them should get the kill. Also, another solution could be to have a zombie or ghost of the player stay where they logged out, so that the person can kill them fair and square. I feel like there are many other ways to solve this issue, but I feel as if it is important to do something about this.
The reason for this as I'm sure you know is just that if a player gets disconnected, they will be able to rejoin within a certain time. I see how this can be frustrating if people log out while in combat, but if they were to instantly die when combat tagged, that could be unfair to the people who disconnect while fighting. If they had a zombie in the location of where they logged then players would just build traps around the zombie and wait for the person to rejoin which is also not fair. Although people do abuse this, It would be hard to find away around it without making it unfair to people who get disconnected. If you disconnect during deathmatch (which is when the most important fights happen) you will not be able to rejoin for this reason.
Hi! I have got to say I agree with you as if this player logs out on purpose in combat mode they should die meaning the people who disconnect in the uhc also have to deal with the fact that they are going to be killed. I like the idea with the zombie as it seems right that they shouldn’t die incase it was by accident. But the zombie should be killable meaning if they log out they can still be killed, this makes it more fair for the people who disconnect and for those who logout because they don’t want to fight. If you ask a staff member to see if they are willing to take on this idea then I assure you it will be involved in the game. ~HH_Captain
I feel like it should simply go along with how subservers operate. If you are "in combat" and you log out, you drop your stuff and you are out of the match. I would suggest it being bannable if enough evidence is shown of someone purposely disconnecting to avoid dying in UHC, as it is pretty competitive.
I agree that this is an important issue. My response to what Fouffy said is, it shouldn't be banable. What if someone ddos you or you just have bad wifi and log out? I think a ghost should replace the player when they log out.
The whole point of a zombie taking ur place is for that reason. People shouldn't be combat logging anyways, that is whats unfair. They deserve it
lol combat logging is a thing, there is a certain amount of time a person has to evade someone b4 they can log out without dying, idk how long the time is but if ur chasing someone for long enough that the combat tag expires u probably werent gonna kill them in the first place.
The problem isn't that people log while actually fighting, its that they are in a fight and then they run away and then log. Although the zombie would be a good idea if someone being chased logged out, what if a player gets kicked while on the surface and another player randomly finds their zombie? Then they would obviously wait there for them and instantly attack them when they came back which would be unfair. Yeah it can be frustrating when players log but it would be hard to find a solution without it giving a disadvantage to player who actually get disconnected.
If that happens, then oh well. That's now on them to get better wifi. If you need to disconnect then go hide.
