/chatreport was added to try and stop spam as quick as possible and give the players a way to quickly report any chat spam or filter bypassing which was passed to a staff to see if they deserve a punishment or not. I am a big fan of Chatreport even though some times players can be muted for more minor chat offenses. I have encountered numerous situations where a person has had bots spamming their server ip in MCC chat for over five minutes until a member of staff checks the chatreport and punishes them. I have thought of a fix for situations like these where, right now, only 1 person can chatreport a certain person every ten minutes, but for my idea i think that if a certain person gets over a certain amount of chatreports within a certain time frame, they will be instantly muted for ten minutes until a member of staff can assess if they deserve further punishments. I would appreciate if a Staff member could take this post into account. Kind Regards, Nathan (ImConcerned)
This would be abused an insane amount. People would spam reports on people just for the sole purpose of getting them muted. The reports plugin is very complex and I don't think I see Alex adding this to the plugin anytime soon.
Thank you for reading first of all, But if they made the number of chatreports at around 15 in 2 minutes then it would not be abused that much as 15 people aren't going to chatreport someone just because they don't like them + you could also add that they had to have messaged over a certain number of times (like 25) within the last 10 minutes Regards, Nathan
Hey there! So, I do agree that more than 1 person should be able to /chatreport a player in the given 10 minutes, but as Unlimited said, it would be abusive and whatnot. And if you went for the amount you said to go against people false chatreporting, that would be way too much. Unfortunately, not many people care enough to chatreport someone, and I'm doubtful that even 5 people would do it in 2 minutes. But I like the premise of the idea!
You would be surprised what some people in this community are capable of, unfortunately. People, I can assure you - would go out of there way to find a group of people to report someone again, just for the sole purpose of them getting falsely muted. I can't express how much players will abuse something if we give them the opportunity to. This will be my last reply to this thread. I have left my opinion.
You'd be surprised how many people would jump on the bandwagon just to feel included In relation to the OP, i don't really agree with this either. As said above, it would be easily abused by people who just want someone muted. Would probably be better if the chatreport would just ping staff if the report description had a specific trigger word on it (eg. "Ad" and "bot"). So, for example, if I made a chatreport on Player1 for "Advertisements on Skyblock", the plugin would pick up that the description includes "ad", and would say this in chat for all online staff members: (!) ChatReport made on Player1 for Advertisements on Skyblock.
