Okay so, your minecraft account has a UUID (Universally Unique Identifier) attached to it which is a completely unique hex code that determines your account from everyone else's. When you change your name, your UUID does not. All the data on MCC that is tied to your account including your rank is tied to your UUID, not your name. In other words, everything on your account will remain intact if you change your name. Hope this helps!
