On prison I see so many empty/inactive plots with good names, that may have been inactive since the start of the season. I was thinking that it would be cool if more active players were able to get those unused names somehow. If the owner of a plot with a name you want is active, you can negotiate with them and get them to change the name and then you can use it, but if the owner has quit there's no way to do that. So could it be enabled that after a certain amount of time inactive, or a certain amount of time since it was last built on, the name of a plot returns to the default and other players can use it. Another possibility is being able to buy the name, maybe for a price that would increase each time it was bought, with a cooldown between purchases and maybe a cap on the amount of times the same player could buy the name. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on this.
hello!! i’m not quite sure your point for creating this thread.. as yes, there are tons of inactive plots with plot aliases that would be super awesome for you to be able to use. however, most times you can’t contact the owner of the plot as they’re inactive. but if you’re able to, most times players could just allow you have the plot alias w/o some trade. The way you described everything does confuse a ‘lil bit.. but anyways... i do not think there should be some type of “fee” to change a plot alias. prison does not revolve around plots, so i wouldn’t see a point. also, plots plugin and economy plugin are two different things, so i don’t thin that could even be possible... but i could be wrong. i’m also not a fan of adding some type of interest on a plot alias. again, seems unnecessary especially since prison doesn’t revolve around plots, and interest of any type on mcc, led alone prison, doesn’t seem like a good idea. most times players lose their money from coin flips n’ such... it just doesn’t seem fair for someone to lose their plot alias from being scammed. which i get is your point.. but that just sounds petty. in all honesty, from the way you wrote this post, i’m taking a big leap and assuming you’re salty about a plot alias you cannot get because an inactive user has already taken it. well plot aliases are first come first serve, same for claiming them. why should paying in-game currency be implemented for something that is first come first serve? i hope this mentioned all of your points, but if it didn’t i hope the last statement i said sticks with you. for me this is a huge -1 have a great day!
Normally when someone creates a plot at the beginning of the season, they know what it is going to be used for and the for set the alias if its something like /p h sell. Other players will try to get these aliases and sell them for money. This could explain why people are inactive with them. They never got around to the chance to sell them. I am confused on "buying the name." If the plot name goes up for sale because the owner was "inactive" maybe because he/she was busy for a week. Then come back to there plot being the default (/p h Username) -1 from me xStrafings Leader of money
I don't think plot names should be purchasable, I think they should just expire. If a user doesn't sign in for 3+ months, their plot alias is removed. It'd be very simple to set up, plugin-wise. Because a lot of fantastic plot aliases are taken by users who haven't played in well over 6 months.
I don't like this idea either. Just make an original name for something instead of purchasing the option for an unoriginal name for in game money
The whole inactivity thing is something I strongly agree on, inactive players destroy opportunity and overall aesthetic look of plots both near spawn and near other plots. I don’t think, however, that the price of the name should be determined by the server, it should be determined by player demand instead.
