Hello, today I would like to present the idea of automated server tips. Let me get into what I mean by that and why this should be implemented. Automated server tips - Random tips that the server would send out in chat (the same kind of messages that are used to advertise the discord, envoy, apply for helper etc.) Why do I believe this should get implemented? - I mainly play Skyblock one, and I always see players asking questions in chat, which is normal. Maybe if they saw the server give out a tip on a question that is asked fairly often, this player would know the answer and not have to ask anyone. I know, this is why we have staff, but what about the 75% of time that the staff are busy, and can't be answering questions? In the end, this tip really wouldn't harm anyone, it is just there to help! And I will not me surprised if some people say that they don't want their chats flooded. Maybe with these feature you would be able to toggle the tips, with a simple command like /tip toggle. I am completely open to hear everyone's thoughts about this idea. Thank you. ~Maffy Discord - maffy#0002
heyo! i can somewhat see where you’re conning from; however, i don’t think this idea is all that necessary. i feel that the community, for the most part, is always happy to help if there’s a question that pops up in the chat (community in all subservers). and i like how you added the “/tip toggle”, but 1- i feel that most players would either ignore it whether it’s enabled or disabled kinda like how the messages in chat about voting, discord, etc pop up and a lot of players would toggle it off in general 2- if it were to be actually be added i think the command would be “/toggletip” just by following other patterns of commands also about questions- i see questions being asked a lot in the mcc discord as well. some questions that are being asked can’t alwyas be something that a pre-written text. sometimes players like asking staff ingame or in discord to where the question applies to them/their island/their plot. overall, it’s a -1 from me ~puposaurus
Hey puposaurus, that's why I said "questions that are asked fairly often", and complicated questions aren't asked too often.
Hey Maffy1230, I agree 100% with this. I've wanted for the longest time to have tips broadcasted per subserver. EG things like: -"Did you know you can deposit money to your islands bank! /is bank!" -"Want to earn tokens? /tokens to find out what drops tokens!" -"You can message friends with /msg *name*" -"Be aware of griefers! Make sure you trust a friend before cooping them to your island" etc, etc.
Hi there I totally agree with this idea it's like what KierenBoal said because there are sometimes players who need some tips and advice in each subserver. However this should be in the Server Suggestion forums. Thanks Have a lovely day or night --==FireyGast Immortal==--
I completely agree with the idea, however, if implemented, I'd much rather it be a casual tip here and there, and not repeating itself multiple times. I've seen many other servers have an attempt at this, and it's usually either very very spammy, thus dis-encouraging talking in chat and being helpful, or just straight up useless tips. If implemented well, this could be a very good addition.
Hey Maffy1230, I don't believe this is such a bad idea and in fact, a good one. Adding to what Kieren and FireyGast said, this could help new players. With the recent ongoing growth of Minecraft comes a bunch of new players that a lot of the time, don't really know how a lot of the server functions and a lot of the mechanics. I also believe that players should be able to submit tips so that it isn't repetitive and staff members can look at it and decide if it isn't breaking any rules and if it is a good tip. I don't know if this is too far but they could even add an entire subteam to deal with this but that might be far. Another thing that could be implemented with this idea is the idea of random facts about the server. Instead of always giving tips, there could be some fun facts about the server. Maybe some about the staff team, some about the history of MCC and how it all came together and ext. I really like all of these ideas and I think this is one step to make the server better. +1
Instead of this, would probably be better to just have one broadcast that links to a Skyblock FAQ on the forums added to the current automated messages, instead of spreading the questions out across possibly hundreds of alerts. Would either get very spammy or take forever for them to cycle.
This addition, especially for new players would be really useful and definitely something that should be added. Although, I think a way to improve this would be to add an option to opt-out of the tips (for long-time players who know basically everything) and that at the end of the tip message there should be a link to the FAQ for the specific sub-server etc. for players who are curious in learning more and don't want to wait for the cycle of messages. Overall though, definitely something that should be added. +1
When I think of the idea, I think of helpers, I know you did say most were busy but clearly MCC does not think so because then, there would be more staff. Seems like a decent idea but I really don't think this is necessary because there are people in the chat who don't need a tag or something special to answer a question. Players can just answer the questions, they will see it.
