As you probably know if you were on last night, SG servers were all restarted (and I believe some others as well, since I was kicked out of Murder Mayhem as well for "Server Closed"). From what it seems, updates HAVE been made to the anticheat (Thanks @AlexMarkey btw <3), so I'm going to just be posting some stuff here relating to it that I've noticed while playing. Pros: - No more lagbacks, can no longer freeze someone who's running away by hitting them with a rod (yay!!) Cons: - Seems to be less strict on KillAura, having multiple games now where people are hitting me from 7-8 blocks away. - It also appears that Speed Hacking is now possible again... Spoiler: Speed Hacker Also if a staff member sees this could we get a ban on Jolleran kthxbai I know these will probably be fixed soon, but just thought I'd post something relating to it in case it was missed. If anyone else has found some other changes that I missed feel free to share them below.
Interesting changes.. maybe it'll continue to be updated in the near future? Still neat to see some work being done on the AC even if there's still issues. Will definitely hop into a game and check it out ASAP. Finding hackers definitely seems to be easier now since they're able to be blatant with it. Definitely a solid plus even if there's the obvious con of them being pretty much unstoppable until they leave or are banned. Ah well, still nice to see some change regardless!
Hello, Thanks for the Pros and Cons, I see that too. I saw someone I was 1v1ing use SpeedHacks, and Reach, and Killaura, and the Anti-Cheat didn't detect it. I had to message a staff to ban him. Hopefully they can upgrade the Anti-Cheat even more! Pros on change: Easier to Find hackers for people going for Player Reports. Cons: A bit worse on bigger and badder hacks. If you have any questions for me, just message me on discord at 4Nut#2232, or write on my profile page!
hey! i'd like to also say that i've noticed something different in the anticheat. a kid in skywars had ka activated in lobby/waiting room and he wasn't kicked. but overall, i think it's an improvement towards mcc and their ac. :) ~poopoosaurus
This honestly sounds like amazing news! I personally have stopped playing the minigames on MCC and play on the subservers. I played plenty before I stopped and there were plenty of unpunished hackers. So hopefully all the cons will be fixed and we can have a hack-free server.
Are they still using AAC or a new one entirely? Im unable to get on for a few days so I'm curious how this anticheat is compared to the previous one.
It's better in the fact that you no longer get lagged back, but now hackers can pretty much use any hack without being glitched back or kicked.
Honestly I rarely experienced the lagged back issue so I can't complain, however, I'm definitely glad that the administration team acknowledged the outcry from the community that change needed to be done. I'm sure over the course of a few weeks we will see improvements made to the anticheat that will be catching more cheaters. I believe the reason why people are able to get away more easily as of right now is because it's a new anticheat & they want to see how well it works and go from there.
UPDATE: It's been a day now and I'm still seeing people use Speed Hacks... people have started to realize BHop works as well. Is this going to be fixed anytime soon @AlexMarkey?
It hasn't even been a week since the update..I am sure over the course of time & especially next few weeks we will see improvements but we need to be patient.
Earlier today on the factions server we had 1 guy flying around in Outpost A and hanging out on top of the gazebo. You used to be frozen/lagged back for doing this.
New anticheat seems to be more lenient on speed and flight/jesus hacks, but I'm sure they'll fix this. Just hope it's soon, cause now hackers are pretty much unstoppable...
Hello all, Something definitely needs to change with the anti-cheat or for it to be updated. Hackers are taking over the MCC community and isn't making many sub-servers or minigames enjoyable anymore Thanks, Olli
Hey, I see that they've gone a little lenient on all hacks, and they're trying to firstly fix the rubberbanding and glitching, before attempting to restrict the hacker's abilities. A step in the right direction, it seems. However, the hacker checks should be more strict asap, as soon the server will be flooded with them. All in all, good direction! I hope my post about the issue helped somewhat.
there ought to be a developer to build an anti-cheat around the server for better performance/less lag, limiters that auto flag players like going 1.5x faster than normal speed no pots etc.
That was what Timppali said in an earlier post. As multiple have stated, there needs to be patience in the community. I have seen way too many threads complaining about this issue when it has only been a few days.
The original point of this thread was to just gather some of the issues of the new anticheat settings, not bash the anticheat. Just trying to let alex know so he can fix it. Sorry if I didn't make that clear
