I feel as it's completely necessary as people can just take abuse of it and it would be a hassle for the staff who have to deal with it.
It works quiet well against the crappier Hacked Clients, just not so good with the more advanced ones which are usually premium.
OBS is a decent recording software and it's FREE! If you want a more advanced recording system, you'll have to invest a bit of money into it.
