So I'm sure you guys get tons of this. And I'm sure it's become like muscle memory batting away every complaint you guys get. But please just listen empathetically rather than go through the list of ways that everything is fine in the survival server. It isn't, trust me. The survival server chat is a complete trainwreck half the time. Not because of the occasional spammers, I'd actually VASTLY prefer those. No, the chat is mainly a friends group chat now. A lot of the regulars seem to think that the chat and even the game itself are only for people they know, in their circle of friends. Because of this, some of these individuals are extremely rude to rookies or anyone joining they don't know. Teaming against rookies with enchanted gapples and some of the best equipment in game, when rookies can't get anything but some mildly okay diamond armor maybe, regular gapples, and get shunned from chat just because people don't know them. Sure, I guess teaming against rookies isn't against the rules or anything, but you have to wonder why the survival server doesn't have more regulars and less fights in chat. One would think that you'd want to get more regulars by the chat being well moderated, friendly and helpful to rookies. Instead it almost seems set up so that those who are regulars will be likely to buy ranks and get preferential treatment (mods overlooking rule breaking or just not checking survival server chat)

But then again mods are rarely on the survival server from what I've seen. Don't get me wrong, some of the regulars are very helpful. But certainly not everyone. It's a public server, not a group friends-only chat/server like it's turned into.

I'm sure you guys have reasons ready for why none of this is a problem, regulars shunning/running off rookies and just generally being rude to anyone they don't know. It would be that it's not happening, it's an exaggeration, or it's how you play the game, one of those three. But I think quite a lot of people would like to be surprised, and see changes implemented in how survival works in general, making it a bit more fair for rookies.

Until then I see very little point in playing the survival server. What I experienced made me clear my plot and leave after almost a week of playing.

I do understand what you mean and I have seen you play. No matter where you go, whether server or sub-server there will be players who argue from time to time. Most of the time players on Survival get along and do their own things. Also the teaming you refer to is the way it is. What I mean by that is, if a player goes into pvp with iron armor, of course another player will kill them if they have better armor/tools. Many people do team in pvp, but again no matter where you go it will happen. People enjoy playing Survival with their friends, you can't expect to get along with anyone. I distinctly remember you joining survival and becoming very harsh towards other players because you had a very strong opinion of what they were doing, even if they weren't bothering anyone. So I hate to break it to you.

The rare one or two times I've taken a stance in the almost a week that I've played were against people arguing in chat, other than that I've mostly stayed out of anything, to the point that I haven't received a single warning or ever been muted, even when moderators were in chat. They've had no problem with me so far, but have had to step in for some arguments in chat that I've seen. I've seen people get muted for arguing and generally being unkind.

But it's like when 20 people are speeding on a highway and the cop can only pull over one or so and the rest get away with it. I'm not saying all the regulars on the server are that way, probably not even half. In fact you were one of the ones who were always nice and stayed out of the drama from what I could tell. But almost nobody on this server is acting like its a public server, nobody is acting like anyone is allowed to come here to make friends, it's BYOF I guess. It's stupid, and you even said you understand what I mean. Some people come to servers to make new friends rather than bringing their own and excluding everyone else. And don't get me wrong, bringing your friends to servers is great fun. But it doesn't mean anyone should be a jerk to strangers on a public server in a public chat just because they don't know them. Putting other issues with the survival server aside, my point is that a lot of people are getting away with more than they should on the survival server and regulars not only seem to run the chat most of the time, but even the game itself.

The other issues with the survival server being that it is very unlike regular Minecraft survival, to the point where IMO it should be its own different gametype, Minecraft Tycoon or something like that. It's not very focused around survival. You can get in and never have to look for resources after you set up large farms. Just buy everything you need from other players. And I'll admit, it's fun in its own way and a very neat system, but the goal isn't to build giant bases with your friends in the overworld and conquer the nether and find a strong hold to fight the ender dragon. It's pay to rank and build the biggest farm, get the richest and get the best armor and weapons, same as most other regulars, meaning the OP regulars have to team and any solo rookie has no chance, pretty much ever, sorry come back next season kinda thing. We could go back and forth on how that's what the game is, but that's my point. That's how it is and it shouldn't be. It could be so much better. And people on the server could be a bit friendlier, or have mods on specifically to warn/kick/ban anyone specifically targeting rookies in game and I don't mean in PVP (some of the richer regulars buy up low priced good items on the ah so new players can't get them. Ones who can have hundreds of gapples and full mythic armor any time they want so they just buy the stuff to be jerks to rookies. And that's just one example outside of chat of regulars being unfriendly to rookies. I'm sure you weren't a part of it, but for the record it did happen, all the time)

Like I said it was fun in its own way but I stayed longer than I should have. I should have left earlier when I realized it wasn't really a true blue minecraft survival server or fair to newcomers.

    Hi!

I understand that you do not like the toxicity of the survival server but some subservers including sb 2 are also very toxic and if you don’t like the toxic people in survival then you could try playing a different subserver. But if they are inappropriately talking or arguing you can always use the /chatreport to get them muted. If you are really persistent and do really want survival to be a fairer community you could ask staff to make a movement to increase the restrictions and the amount of words that are blacklisted. Also the staff team nor anyone else can do something about killing rookies who come into the server and get killed in pvp, as they chose to go to pvp. Also if you want the server to be more kitpvp based in pvp then you can try and make a movement for that as in kitpvp people give a fair 1v1 and when you say stop they usually stop, along with the fact that on kitpvp no-one gapple fights as gapples are rare.
