I think putting Banknotes of Auction house should be Banned/Removed. Now, I get it why Prison and Factions have it. But all you can Do with banknotes on Auction house is Scam. Like the "free money" Scam, Where you put a Banknote with 6-7 digits, But the last two digits are Cents. Now, it dosent look this way. so people think its things like 1mil for 50k, But in reality, they just lost 40k Some Examples are Here: As you can see, They do this by Saying Lines Such as "free money on ah", Which will catch most peoples Eyes, And since you can put Cents into Banknotes. If you dont look carefully, you wont be able to notice it. .There are Poor Rookies, just trying to get some more Money and they get Scammed out of all of it. Therefore, I think that banknotes from AH should be removed entirely. Its just buying money for Money.
It does seem redundant to be buying money for money. I believe keeping this on Factions and Prison is fine as it's part of the way those subservers function. Other subservers such as KitPvP I can see this being a useful thing to restrict. It's can be confusing to read the commas and decimals. An alternative to keeping banknotes on /ah is to restrict people from creating banknotes with decimal places. They don't show up on your currency tab unless you do /balance or /stats.
Hey, I don't think it's necessary to remove selling banknotes on the auction house as a whole. Scamming is one of the main aspects of factions and prisons, and I don't see a purpose in removing the ability to sell banknotes on the auction house, since scamming is completely allowed in those 2 sub-servers. The prison and factions community are filled with scams all around chat, and I don't see a reason to specifically remove this method of scamming. I can see how this would be an issue in other sub-servers like skyblock though, but I think there are so many better solutions to the problem than removing the ability to sell them, like for example what Pizzicato said above, remove the ability to have decimals in banknotes. That would be a much easier and more convenient fix to the problem than removing them. Have a good day!
I like this idea of removing decimal places from banknotes. I think removing banknotes completely from ah would be a bad idea.
personally ive seen a lot of rookies fall for this scam in my past few months on this server and its just falling onto deaf ears. staff seem to have no consideration of the matter as its just another rookie i think the best option is making it so you can auction banknotes rather then getting rid of banknotes as a whole as they are a great way to store money our /trade
I understand an agree with you because I have known some people who have lost 500k due to these people who are trying to scam but for this I believe firstly it should be taken down off the ah but also the person should receive a punishment like: not being able to go on the ah for a day and do the /ah command or /ah sell either. These punishments would make them learn their lesson.
I absolutely agree with you, I hate reading in the chat about poor rookies/Donaters who are victim to theses cheap scams
I 100% agree with this post. People advertise "free money" however, its mainly scam tactics. Since the beginning of the season, theres been many different players doing this. It also makes no sense to put bank notes on ah. You could easily do /pay (persona) or do a small drop party. Love this idea Bread! -Earthy <3
I don't agree with removing banknotes from auction house or taking out decimals altho lets be real decimals are useless unless were playing a server where you sell an inventory of blocks for $0.1. Selling banknotes on ah is a form of scamming in my opinion if it is ment to trick a player. I think if people want to sell banknotes for like 100k for 1$ on ah on skyblock thats fine. I do believe tho that selling banknotes that are ment to look like a certain amount but are another should be bannable on all sub servers except prisons and factions.
Personally, I think that it should not be allowed. Selling banknotes (selling money for money) should be forbidden since the only logical reason behind it is to scam or trick (new) players into buying something they thought it would be profitable. Also, since the gamemodes 'factions' and 'prison' have a strict "scamming is allowed"-policy, I think that it should remain allowed on those gamemodes. Nevertheless, I would like to say that banknotes with decimals should also be forbidden because if banknotes, in general, will be banned in the auction house, people can still scam each other if they had like to by doing /trade and giving the other player a 'notpartofthedeal-banknote' after having received the payment to trick the other player during this 'physical encounter' into making them believe that they have received a profit from the deal. Yours Sincerely, Martijn
