Hello there, something new that I think would be beneficial to add to the server is a best friend/favorites system. For someone like me with 30 pages of friends, it is sometimes annoying to /friend list 3 or /friend list 6 when they're all online. It would be tons easier if I could /bestfriend add or /favorite a player so they'd either pop up on the first page or a separate favorites page. If you added them as a favorite they would have to add u back to make sure that people wouldn't have someone knowing they're online if they don't want them to. Hey there, I do agree with you it is a struggle having countless friends and not being able to find specific ones. It would be nice to be able to have "favorite friends" or a favorites page to be able to have easier access. There's no downside to your suggestion but to add - there could be an in-game GUI with skulls of all your friends and a scroll button like many other servers have? +1
This is a problem for lots of players, seeing a new change like this would be awesome. Another thing that I would like to add while in the topic of friends. Is being able to do /r to a player that is not of the same sub server. Like when somebody does /msgf being able to do /r or something like that would make life a lot easier. -W5vil
Hey! I love the idea where you're going about adding "best friends" in-game. However, I don't think that "best-friends" should only be able to view if you're online. I like the idea of what Andrew mentions about a GUI showing your friend's skulls, but I personally think they should add a custom plugin that's similar to /find <username> and make it /friendcheck <name>. As I was saying earlier where they should add more things to it than just a player online check and this is the idea where W5vil brought up. Such as /r instead of /msgf, however that's not possible as EssentialsX already uses the command /r and I was thinking of an idea of a /msgf <name> <toggle> then you can type in chat normally and it'll send messages to the player and not public chat. There are many downsides to this as well! If Alex or any of the developers would want to add this feature, they would either have to create a WHOLE new plugin as you can't add on to a pre-made plugin that they installed, or they would have to search for hours for a new plugin to install with the features you suggested.
I think something like this would be a nice thing to add to the server. I do have to admit that when I am looking for a friend and since I have around 50 pages, it can be kind of annoying to try to find just one person. They could either add the best friend/favorites like you suggested, or like Andrew said, have a in-game GUI where there are player heads, which would also make it much easier to find someone. Sadly though, ever since the friends system has come out, they really haven't done anything to improve this, but hopefully someday they will tweak it to make it more "user friendly."
This should probably be moved to server suggestions.. Anyway, I don't support this idea, quite frankly, because it doesn't need to be added at all. The friends aspect works exactly how it should and by creating a "best friends" list for the players that just so happen to have 50 pages of friends is honestly very silly. ImJustAndrew's suggestion here makes a lot more sense.
Indeed, the GUI idea would be a lot simpler to develop I think and could be done. Either one I think would help players with lots of friends navigate and manage their friends list.
This problem h This problem has affected me and multiple people i know!! I personally have a small group of people i play with almost everyday, and having to cycle through friend lists isnt too fun, I think this would be a great option to add, and to make sure people set as your "best friends" or your "favorites" Would be at the top or have a highlighted ring around them (or something that makes them unique to the other players heads. I think this idea would be great, it’ll make the friends list easier to navigate through. Being able to favourite people so they show up first seems like it would come in handy. I have people on my friends list that are really only there for them to see if I’m on and ask me to give them something and others are actual friends of mine. Trying to go through the lists of people to see if my friends are online gets a bit annoying because of the amount of people I don’t really talk to. Overall, I think this is a cool idea.
