    Hey everyone!

I’ve been seeing a lot of people complaining about the time of bans. I remember some time ago that Lifetime bans were a thing depending on each occasion and I think that it would be a good thing to reintroduce them back again in MCC.
I think Lifetime bans should be applied only in extreme cases, like if someone is flying around and killing everyone with kill aura and by doing so destroying and making the other player’s game not at all enjoyable.
    What do you guys think?

    Have a nice day/night!

Honestly in my opinion I believe that the entire ban system around hacks should be changed. They shouldn't get 3 chances. If someone is blatantly BHopping circles around you or has 6 block reach, they should be permanently banned immediately (adding a Sev4 Hacking Offence). If they are truly sorry, they can take the time to make an appeal in 6 months, otherwise the account will just get unbanned after 30 days and will likely be thrown right back into the circulation of alts for hackers to use. If the hacks are more low-key and less severe, then they could have the regular 30-60-perm punishments.

Would definitely like to see this re-implemented, but I doubt it will be to be honest. False bans are already a big enough issue.

I don’t think it would be necessary to have lifetime bans. This is because there are already ip bans for those who are mute evading or ban evading. And if a player does something really bad they can get a blacklist. Blacklists are kind of like the lifetime bans that you’re talking about but they’re unappealable and you get banned from the forums, discord and in game. Though blacklists are only issued as the last resort.
    Have a great day!

I don't think it would be a nice thing, 2nd ban is already long enough to ppl think on what they did and never do it again

IP bans don't take effect until they've been banned on 3+ accounts on the same IP. By that time they've probably already made a lot of players quit MCC. Also VPNs are a thing. As for blacklists, those are more for people who have actually done substantial harm or damage to the server in some way, not for regular hackers.

If someone has an alt supply, a lifetime ban system won't make a difference against the current system.
If they don't, lifetime bans only eliminate the chance for regular kids to appeal and join again

Not as much as you think

First off, permanent banning alts would likely have a noticeable effect on the amount of hackers, reason being once an account is banned, it can never be used again. At the moment, they just get unbanned after a month or two (if second time banned), and then they just go right back into the list of alts that people can use to hack. Permanent banning on the first go would get rid of the account after one time, instead of 3.

Second, there is an anti proxy, however it doesn't really do much in regards to stopping people from using VPNs. It's hard to make one that actually blocks everything. Keep in mind that all those posts are from people who were falsely blocked. No one would make a post saying they were blocked if they were using a vpn to hack lol.

There already are permanent bans and honestly to me it seems fine how you build up to getting it after 3 hacking bans. Maybe switching from three to two would be a fine change but I think everyone deserves a chance to fix their ways. Players who are blatantly hacking are also the easiest to get banned by simply reporting them or telling a staff member so they will last on the server less than those who are less blatant anyways.

I don’t see how perm banning hackers would help. I know quite a lot of people who have been falsely banned and had to wait. If hacking lead to a perm ban they would have waited 6 months before actually being able to appeal. -1 to perm banning people for hacking.

Hello! In my opinion I do not think there should be a lifetime ban. What I do think there should be is a 2 year ban. The reason a 2 year ban would be better than a lifetime ban is because in 2 years, people have matured. Also, what big difference would it make if every 2 years, one hacker gets on and gets banned. Lifetime ban is saying once a hacker, always a hacker. Which is not true in any way. When I was 9-11 I hacked a ton, I was so bad at stuff I felt the need to hack. I have sense given up those wrong things and play legit. So it is possible to change. So that is why I think we should have 2 year bans.

Like I said in my original reply, the OBVIOUS hacks. Like 6 block KillAura, AntiKnockBack, BHop, Speed. Though they could change to permanent ban for all hacks, now that all staff are going to be required to keep evidence for hacker bans.

It doesn't matter if staff are required to save evidence or not mistakes can still be made through video evidence. Unless it's done by screenshare most bans for reach / anti kb are difficult to determine.

Not sure if we're both on the same page here... "obvious" means they are using blatant hacks, where it's impossible to mistake them. The default block reach is 3.00, if someone is hitting you from 6+ blocks away it's safe to assume that they are hacking. Also it's pretty hard to mistake antikb, this means you literally don't take knockback. Don't see how you could possibly get false banned for that.

Also since they are going to be required to keep evidence, you can appeal and ask for the evidence to be double checked. If needed, contact a different staff member through discord and ask their opinion on it.

I was referring to the part of your previous post that said "Though they could change to permanent ban for all hacks, now that all staff are going to be required to keep evidence for hacker bans." I don't think perm bans for all hacks are fair especially when staff can make mistakes about them. For blatant things like bhoppers it seems fine but then that evidence would have to be saved too whereas I think the plan right now is that they don't have to save blatant evidence so perm banning for those wouldn't be fair.

If they make a mistake and false ban, that's what the recording evidence would be for. Though I don't see why it would be "unfair" to perm ban for blatant hacks, just because they don't need to save evidence for it. If someone is using something like BHop where you don't stand any chance against them, I think a permanent ban is well justified. As long as it's super obvious that they were hacking.

The amount of players that are actually banned by mistake is almost none!
First of all to be banned you need someone to report you, and to report someone, you need clear proof of someone hacking otherwise the report will not be accepted.
At least for me, I had several reports not accepted because the hack was not entirely clear in the clips or because the player could be lagging.

So basically it is very hard to be banned by mistake, that’s why I truly believe permanent bans should be reintroduced in MCC.

From my experience on the server false bans actually do occur sometimes and even if it is rare its not right to possibly permanently ban someone for something if theres a chance they weren't doing it. As for your comment ankh, all I'm saying is that unless a hack is recorded and the evidence is saved there should not be an instant perm ban, even in the case of bhopping unless the evidence is saved its unfair to the players to receive a perm ban. Although it sounds impossible I've heard players claim to be falsely banned for bhop, if that were the case and staff weren't required to save their evidence for it then a player can be instantly perm false banned by a staff member whenever they want.

I believe the current punishment system is great and works great too. But I do believe the amount of accounts allowed to be banned simultaneously on an ip should be changed back to 3. Because players who have siblings that play are at a fault compared to others with a single person on an ip.

    Heyo!

The ban times is for people to think about what they've done so they ban perhaps come back and choose the path of legit playing. Giving players second chances doesn't always work out, but it's worth it for those who do take that second chance as a time to get rid of their hacking ways. This is why I don't stand by the "Hacks = Perm Ban" when it's the first time, even though I once did.

Hope you are having a great day or night!
