Hello MCCentral Staff, I hope you're doing well. I’m writing to raise a concern about a past experience I had on the server around mid-2020, specifically while playing UHC (Ultra Hardcore). I didn’t report it at the time because I wasn’t sure how to, but the incident raised some lasting concerns about staff procedures, and I feel it’s important to bring it to your attention now. During that game, I was frozen in-game by a moderator under suspicion of using X-ray. I was then asked to join a Discord call, which I did. In that call, the moderator requested that I download a third-party program designed to display my entire PC’s recent activity and file history. I was told that if I didn’t comply, I would be permanently banned from the server. Wanting to avoid punishment, I reluctantly complied and screenshared my system using the requested software. After a review, the moderator said no suspicious activity was found, told me I could remove the program, and unfroze me. While I appreciate that the case was resolved without punishment, the investigation process itself felt intrusive—especially in hindsight. I understand that screenshares and client inspections are part of the anti-cheat system on MCCentral, but from reading the server's rules and guidelines now, I believe that being required to download software that scanned my entire PC history (beyond Minecraft-related content) may have crossed a line. I'm not seeking to dispute any punishments or actions taken—only to raise awareness about what happened and ask if this kind of process aligns with MCCentral’s current standards for staff conduct. I no longer have access to the PC involved, but I still feel this was important to bring forward in the interest of fair and respectful investigations moving forward. Thank you for your time and attention to this message. Please let me know if more details are needed.
Hello! Thank you for reaching out to us about this issue you've had in the past and i'm sorry you felt this way. In regards to screenshares, we do have our own ScreenShare team ( Designated Staff with knowledge on how to screenshare ) however in a scenario like yours the staff member just did the best option for you. See, doing an indepth screen-share without any quicker apps / processes can completely ruin your game ( Especially if it's UHC ) this is why its a key feature to use these verified safe to use apps that quickly scan the entire PC for any corrupt files / clients / texture packs on your comupter that aren't allowed via our rules. Obviously in this scenario we would need some proof / video of this from your end and the staff member at the time that did the screenshare ( they might not be staff anymore ) however, downloading these apps aren't compulsory and staff should offer a manual screen share without any of these apps if you deem to not feel comfortable in downloading these apps as the last thing we want is for our screen-shares by staff to make these players do things they don't want to do. But as said above it's a lot longer process doing it manually. If you do have any proof of the threats we can Potentially look into it further but as said its been a long time so the chances are nothing will happen by now. If any other issues do come your way you're welcome to message my discord - BtwImQuestion and if any issues with other staff you're welcome to submit a staff report via our forums under the " Report Staff " section. With all being said i hope you have a great rest of your day! Post Closed
