I haven't played this server or even minecraft in general since like 2019 or 2020, I even had a youtube channel where I'd upload on this server. I logged into it today it looked so depressing how dead it is now. Almost all the game modes are gone or dead. I remember this server getting thousands of players now it has just fallen to obscurity. What even happened that made it dead? I thought this server would still be somewhat big even in 2023 or to at least have most of it's game modes still continued. I had so many memories on this server and it would be almost the only server I would even play back then. Even looking at the forums, there's barely any posts being made on it. What even killed the server?
The minigames and subservers were slowly removed throughout the years as player count fell. Nowadays, there's a lot less active players, and as you've pointed out, the forums aren't too active either. To answer your question, time. Time keeps moving and servers change. People move on and leave, and here we are today.
Hey The decline of players is experienced by many servers, not just MCCentral. Newer versions of Minecraft are no longer promoting PvP and Multiplayer style anymore, it is now more focused around Realms and Bedrock version. This slowly has diverted the player base away from Multiplayer Java Servers to Realms
Most individuals that were playing the server were younger and most have moved on with life, college ect. If people realize that the server needs people to play just in general, even for just an hour a day, the server would be much more active.
