A quick introduction: I am a software developer and active survival player. me and Jovo run /warp market (the largest buy/sell shop in the game) . Since a few days i've heard ideas about creating a kind of list so it'd be possible to see the avarege prices that things are bought and sold for, how much is being sold etc. The best way in my opinion to allow for such information to be given to the public would be through an API, that way, developers could contribute to the experience of mccentral by making tools that allow the community to enjoy the server even more. webscraping is an alternative that may turn out useful. i've used it for a project like yours in which i would need an api and it worked out just fine. good luck though, i dont think they'll make the api public as it may contain confidential information.
