Today, I got on to play a little bit of Survival Games. In the first game I play, I get the sword on San Andreas, and some kid is standing at the door of the room threatening to kill me for the sword. Someone else comes in and tries killing him and he hacks hard on the kid. I said "suck my enormous weiner" and called him a hacker in chat cause he was hacking very blatantly, then he flew on me for about 5 seconds and killed me. After he killed me, a staff member muted me (very quickly and rightfully so) for explicit content so I figured they are in my lobby, but the hacker gets to continue playing and enjoying their time on the server. The staff on this server surely have their priorities straight and are making sure players are enjoying their time! Also, I am not arguing against the punishment. I was rightfully punished, but staff do very minimal to help against hackers. The staff just rely on normal players to make reports which are stupid as no one is having fun and everyone who is legit leaves. The only person I have seen in lobbies banning hackers is khayleb.
I understand ur frustration, but keep in mind that there isn't always staff in the game. you got most likely got muted because someone chatreported you, not because there was a staff in your lobby. Many staff do in fact actively ban hackers, if you see someone hacking, it's advised to record it and file a report :)
You're probably right, it's just frustrating since I rarely see staff on SG yet I deal with hackers every few games.
Hey there! I understand how you feel right now about being muted for what you did, however if you were muted for the reason - CR it means that there was no staff in your lobby but some player chatreported you as mentioned above, if it is for the reason -W it means that it was witnessed by staff. Now passing the part that you say it is rare to see staff online in survival games, this may be true but if I am not wrong, the main minigame that has more hackers on the server is skywars and that is where staff focus on punishing players, what I recommend to you is to join the discord of mc-central and drop the hackers ign in channel #support so the staff can know who is using hacks and punish them. If you believe you were punished unfairly, you can always make an appeal as mentioned above too, the tip I give is just try to control as much as possible what we say in the chat and just do what I said above, drop the ign in the support channel or try to record them and report them via forums. Have a great day, ~ s0cial ~
staff do play sg, but yes you are right they aren't completely active on it, but that's the reason for the report system. next time you encounter a hacker, feel free to record if they are bothering you :)
Bequty_ Like I said I wasn't wrongfully muted, I am irritated that I called out a hacker, told them something "explicit," then I got muted and they got to continue hacking all while the staff member was in the lobby. I was also only planning on being on for a short amount of time, which is why my OBS wasn't open.
Hey there, As a staff member I can 100% tell you I do prioritise banning hackers to try and give people the best experience on the server. I say this many times when I mute someone in the situation you were in, just because they were hacking and breaking a rule doesn't mean you should be breaking rules either. As a few people mentioned, it is much easier for a staff member to mute someone because we can do it via a chat report from any part of the server. This makes it much quicker than joining a lobby, and trying to queue up with a hacker. If we are trying to ban someone, it can take a while to actually get into their game, and even further if they know we are staff and try to avoid us. I assure you that there is much more going on than you see, and we do our best to ban hackers. Sometimes it is difficult for us and I hope you can understand that. -Nikki
