In a different post, I explained that running a minecraft server is like running a business. Running a successful business means clear communication, accountability, transparency and more.

Part of transparency means sharing important data, not just the number of players online, leaderboard results, and how many staff and moderators are part of the "team".

If AlexMarkey really cares about being transparent, then he should tell us his salary and net profit, to himself and/or the organization as a whole.

[ To those who believe that sharing information about money and salary ain't gonna help make the server better, I agree. But maintaining a MC server that shops for purchase is a business. The quality of MCC servers and games depends on a good business model. Unless MCC is a nonprofit organization but not a business.]

How much money do you make, well ofc if you do work? So I know you can be a successful person. (I really do hope because you seem to be of age) This question is simply not going to benefit either the staff team or the players. If this server really truly wants to get better it starts and ends with the staff team. And ofc Alex Markey himself, he does own this server. So instead of this being a topic shared with actual players it should be shared with staff team. (So they can have a goal/ideas to increase what is earned) No one can really help this server but staff themselves.

    Hi iwillfindu,

You'll find that Alex doesn't have to share what he earns - in the same vein that I, as a full-time working adult do not wish to share what I earn.
What Alex DOES have to share to, is the Tax department; which he does. Likewise, I, as a working adult, also have my earnings reported to the Tax department.

Whilst to a lot of you children making 'thousands' seems crazy, to all working adults, you'll find that making 'thousands' is normal...
The average Australian household income yearly is roughly $57,200, as of 2019, before tax. (based on many various Google searches).

I think what a lot of you don't also see, is that Alex does work full time on this server. He works well over 40 hours a week; hell most weeks he will be woken up at ridiculos hours like 2am to login and fix an issue with the server.

Now, I know that a lot of you don't see this, because Alex definitely doesn't keep live community updates with what hes working on; I see this, as part of the Quality Assurance team. I see all the times that hes on at ridiculos hours doing work on the server; I see when hes spent 10 hours in a day just setting up part of a reset, and yet, he is still online, continuing to configure the server, chasing up builds, following up issues and delegating work that needs to be done.

So with all that being said, we now need to understand that whilst there is income from this server, it is divided into multiple areas:

-Wages (Alex and Vislo both need to live, this is their job)
-Server maintiance (You know the hardware we have for servers is actually very expensive, much more than your household computer; and this hardware does eventually break and need to be replaced - EG: Survival just had its hardware replaced, costing thousands)
-Server data costs (The servers don't magically host themselves, nor does the DDoS protection magically happen, money gets spent on that)
-Other various costs including hosting, external development, custom builds, custom artwork, etc.

With all of this in mind, you'd be very naive to think that Alex is some sort of millionare living a lavish lifestyle funded by this server; I'd estimate that his income is well within what an average working Australians wage.
