Howdy all! So it was like really late when I started making this thread, so please bear with me if my grammar sucks or I make any spelling mistakes. It has gotten to my attention that DDoS / DOX Threats are a gameplay offence. Which is understandable, DOXing and DDoSing can be considered gameplay. But, it states threats are gameplay, which has been burning my mind for a while. Like, announcing in CHAT, is a GAMEPLAY offence. What sense does that make? I understand actually DOXing someone might be gameplay itself because you do something that involves being ingame, but announcing it in chat doesn’t seem like it. It seems fairly odd that you can get muted for issuing death threats, but you get banned for threatening to DOX someone. It does make sense because DOX threats are huge and it is necessary to ban them, and yes we could do it anyways just in case they actually do something to the server / staff. But, at the same time, the threats are in CHAT. Gameplay offences include punishments that have to do with gameplay such as building, cross teaming, ghosting, etc. Not threats. Now I would say “change the rule,” but that I feel like won’t happen. So, if someone explain to me: Why are these kind of threats gameplay offences when you are announcing them in chat? I’m just really confused on how this works. <3
Its because ddosing/doxing can certainly disrupt the gameplay of other users on the server in a variety of ways, and if someone was muted for those types of threats it would not be severe enough of a punishment as they could continue to play the server, using alternative methods to talk to them or actually benefiting from the threats if they took action (i.e ddosing someone to take their p5 on kit). You can see another offense though, chat trolling, is punishable via ban despite being a chat message as it disrupts their gameplay through that form of trickery, resulting in a closed game, loss of money or whatever else. As its very easy to see how dox / ddos affects the gameplay of other users, I hope this post helps you to understand it as well!
