I may get in trouble for posting this.... but here is a video where Youtuber "EricOG" takes shots at the server. He talks about the anticheat, botted/fake players, pay2win/pay2play, toxicity, lack of updates, and the fact that it is too laggy. Now I'm just starting to strike up a conversation about this because I agree that some aspects of the server need a change, but I am in no way saying that MCC is a bad server. Firstly, the Anticheat... MCC's anticheat has been a hot topic for players for years, in the video Eric states that it is old and unreliable, and yes- it it old, and it used to be reliable but I feel that it could do with an update, and I think there are a lot of others that agree with me. Hacks and cheats have become a lot more advanced than what they were back in 2013-2014. An update to the AC would help the hacker problem, keyword being help because there is no real way to stop the hacker problem. All servers are going to have hackers no matter what. Fake players I'm not sure where he got this "evidence" of fake or botted players, so I can't exactly comment on this. If anyone has any information about this, care to reply and explain it to me? I don't see why a server like MCC would fake players, it already does have a large playerbase and there would be no clear need to do this. Obviously the server isn't in it's "prime" as you would say, but it certainly isn't dead. Pay to win I disagree with his claim that the server and ranks are pay to win. That's the point of a rank, right... you support the server, and the server supports you. No one would buy the ranks and keep the server running if they simply bought it for a "title". There are many servers in which the ranks make the players so much more overpowered. Rookies can still compete against the higher ranks, it is just easier for the ranks to grow and grind easier.... because that is the point of rank. Toxicity I admit, the server does have a MINOR toxicity issue. Eric claims that Staff do nothing about toxic players, but literally if you /chatreport someone, it's almost guaranteed that they are muted within 10 minutes. You can't expect staff to spent every second of their lives staring into the chat analysing every message to see if it breaks rules. If you report someone who's doing the wrong thing, they get banned in no time. And that's why the toxicity issue is irrelevant. It's not the Staff and community's fault that there are toxic people. There are toxic people everywhere in our world. Everywhere you go. It's just how you handle the toxics, and clearly he's been a bystander to it, yet he still complains. If he made an effort to reduce the amount of toxic players and hackers, then he would have the right to complain. This whole VIDEO is complete toxicity against the server... I honestly don't get it Lack of updates This is wrong. With a Factions reset & update just a mere few weeks ago, and a Prison reset & update soon to come, the only subserver that really needs a look at is the minigames, which are still striving on their own. The server has issues larger than an update, there is stuff that has to be fixed before they can keep working on stuff like that. Finally, the lag... I'm from Australia, so I already have constant ping. There have been reports from other Oceania players that have been experiencing high ping over the past few days, but that's just a ping issue, nothing the staff and QA team can do anything about. Apart from the ping, I haven't ever really experienced any server lag / low TPS. Alright so that's my thoughts. I'm interested in what other people think about this. I'm not at all trying to stir up any drama and I'm not trying to slander any staff members or players. I'm takin a nap
Not sure how to word this in a nice way so I'll just bluntly say that I find there to be no reason why you made this post. You should know that some of this is from his experience and the experiences of others, so some information can't particularly be proven wrong since you weren't there to experience it. You can only say your opinions for these matters, but it doesn't mean he isn't wrong from what he's faced. Nonetheless I'll comment on some things. Some comments may be my opinion. Roughly 1k players are fake. It's been discussed previously on the forums. One reason they bot the older and more popular mini games like Skywars and SG is to make people think the game lobbies are filling up and incentivize them to join rather than knowing no one is playing and then not joining them. Again, not sure how to say this nicely. Your logic seems reasonable, but it's flawed in the sense of the major buffs donators get. I'm talking specifically for KitPvP; for other sub-servers, it depends. Everyone knows KitPvP is p2w. They have tried to reduce it, but there is only so much they can do without losing the incentive to buy ranks. It is completely true that rookies will fall behind, but there is nothing that can be done without taking away from donator perks or giving rookies those perks that people paid for, which would then upset the donator community. Anyways 99% of rookies cannot accomplish anything on Kit close to that of high donators simply because they get rookie farmed and 2 tapped in the starter gear. Only a small portion actually survive because they take a long time to get materials that donators get quickly, or they get help from donator friends. In any case, there is a clear gap. Yes, donators deserve buffs for contributing to the server, but it should not be massive where rookies essentially cannot play unless they're very strategical and patient with the process. That's when most rookies leave. Kit will always remain p2w because of this clear divide between rookies and donators. It can't be fixed. Call it what you want, but the Kit community does consider it p2w. He was previously staff on here. He made an effort to reduce the amount of toxic players and hackers. Right to complain! Also, this is just my personal opinion, but I feel like MCC has been growing more towards the toxic side. The disrespect rule has been lightening up more and more over time, and yes that can be a good thing, but that allows more room for toxicity without facing a punishment. People will always be toxic, but it depends on how much leeway they get. Anyways for me I've grown to accept the toxicity and try not to converse with toxic players, but I can see how it can be annoying, especially if you watch the other stories he's uploaded about his experiences with MCC players; then you'd realize why he views the community toxic. I haven't been as active as I was before, so I'm not entirely familiar with the current ping situations. However, there have been many times in the past where ping issues arose that QA team did fix because the issues came from the server. This could very well be a similar instance.
Heyy j9shua, how are you? I was going to reply earlier, but I had class, sorry... I watched Eric's video twice, and I actually also used to report the hacker that killed him on SG, LOL. Here I'll point some stuff that I think I should say: The AntiCheat: Yeah, the AntiCheat really needs to be improved/receive an update, and everyone agrees with this. (Maybe the hackers don't). The AntiCheat sometimes kick people on ArenaPVP, sometimes because of lag, sometimes it just kick... anyway, that's how it works. On Minigames (I'll talk about skywars, where there are a lot of hackers, and I play the most) it works sometimes against some blatant hackers, but sometimes it doesn't. If there is a hacker on your game, I would recommend you to just hide yourself, and waste the hacker's time, sometimes it takes 10 minutes, but they get kicked on the last minutes... ctrs made a very good post about the AntiCheat. The Fake Players: I don't really know if it's on purpouse, or if it's a bug, but the players counter doesn't show the real amount of players. Like on Speedy Walls, it says that 50 players are playing Speedy Walls, but if you go there, there's no one playing, and you will just waste your time waiting for a game to start, cause it will never start. (Speedy Walls was just one example) The Pay to Win: I usually just play Skywars and in my opinion it's not pay to win, cause we spent money to buy the explosive arrows, so I don't think it's something that pay to win. But about others SubServers, maybe it is, for exemple in Skyblock, if you have Emerald Rank+ you can fly on your island, so it would be too much easy to build a good island comparing to someone rookie. (Skyblock and Fly when Emerald Rank+ was just examples as well) The Toxicity: There will always be toxic people everywhere, but I don't think this is a valid excuse just to let them be toxic. I agree that you can just /chatreport, but I think some rules need to be changed to make the server less toxic. I'm also against the rule of "just severity 3" on /msgf and /pc, ItsGuih made a post about this, and I agree with him. The Lack of Updates: I'll be completely honest about what I think here, so I'm sorry about that. In my opinion, seems like Alex Markey and vislo just care about Factions and Prison. I understand that these SubServers are their source of income, but I don't remember when was the last Minigames revamp. There are rumors about the Minigames Revamp, but I heard about someone that talked to a developer, and he said that there's no revamp on their plans. I think the Server need a Minigames Revamp, and I think it would bring back a lot of people that left the Server. It would also be a good opportunity to improve the AntiCheat, and give more features to Staff Members. And finally, The Lag: Some people were experiencing really bad ping the last days, and it also happened with me already, but I guess the QA Team are working on it, and they're trying to fix the host issues. Not really sure about what's going on, but let's hope it will be fixed soon. I'm sorry about my giant text, but I hope you have a good day/night and stay safe!
