    Ok, I know that hackers are for sure not loved around here in MCC. But, I think that some people should have IP Bans shortened. Now listen first, I get that people deserve to wait 6 months for cheating on the server, but after 6 months what's the chance of someone NOT evading and then come back to Minecraft or even MCC itself? I get hackers aren't wanted in this community, I've had my fair share of them, too. But I feel like 6 months is too long to wait for some people, and for them to come back to MCC after that? I think the chances are very low. What I want to say in this thread is that I think IP Bans should be like regular bans but doubled, so the first offense is 2 months, then 6 months, then permanent. Maybe only 2 months (maybe 3) then permanent. Let me know your thoughts on this. I just want to say this because I know people who are currently IP Banned that deserved a second chance. Just not waiting half a year to play on a server. So the whole idea is the first time getting IP Banned should be 2 or 3 months, then the second IP Ban should be 6 months or permanent.     Not to flex, but being an admin once on MCC I can tell you that IPBans will always stay permanent unless there is a particular problem with an IPBan. IPBans for hacking are only given out if a player has hacked 3 times on 3 separate accounts, therefore, they have had 3 chances to stop hacking.
    Making IPBans only last monthly would mean more hackers will be playing MCC, and I'm sure the community doesn't want that. The only people that would benefit from shortening the length of IPBans would be the hackers themselves thinking its another great opportunity to log on and hack again.

    I can tell you from statistical data; most of the IP bans are from people buying alts and a hack client; and then hacking in minigames.
    IP bans are to stop that. We are not going to bother with shorter durations. Given that 3 bans on any account results in a perm ban (with 6 month appeal duration), it already makes sense that an IP ban being 6 months. Espeically considering most evaders are just cycling through accounts.

    Likewise; you state people are unlikely to hack again after coming back. Wrong.
    A large portion of bans for hacking are accounts that have hacked before.

    I've personally been involved with many IP bans; and I constantly see trends ofL
    -people playing ~4 years ago, hacking, getting banned.
    -Coming back the next year, hacking again, getting banned.
    -Then finally coming back this year getting a final permenant ban.

    Sorry to say, but statistically, most accounts that hacked, WILL hack again.

    I don't really think that IP bans should be shorter - like Alorulz said; they had 3 chances...

    I agree with your statement on how hackers will just come back, but you also said it takes 3 chances to stop hacking? I myself am IP Banned for flying on an alt in pvp, and I know I shouldn't have hacked and I'm sorry for doing so. Then on my main I got ss'd and admitted to autoclicking, now I remember you being admin a while ago, but have the rules changed? Because I am only banned on two accounts and it's an IP Ban, so either I can still play MCC or wait 6 months :p Either way, thanks for your response it means a lot :D

    Dang, didn't really look at it that way. But thanks Kieren on your opinion and it does change my perspective on IP Bans and hackers. Truly means a lot :D

    There is most likely another account linked to your IP that was banned at the time your other 2 accounts were, which would have made you eligible for an IPBan.
