Everywhere I go I get different opinions, but what's yours? Is having 10 ping better or 200? Every time I play there will always be that one guy saying he lost due to my high ping and my delayed knockback and hits. I see where they're going with this but seriously, having lesser ping is SO much better. For starters you won't have a 2 second delay on your bow shots and rods and pots. Plus you don't have that satisfaction of 5 block reach since by the time your hit registers your already in the persons body. This is just my opinion, curious to see what everyone else has to say.
Hey, Lower ping is realistically better for pvping because your connection to the server is less delayed meaning your hits, bow shots, or splash potions will register quicker. Overall pvp can come down to the slightest difference in connection to the server.
I agree with Itself. That being said, there are a few advantages to having high ping. If you are lagging it can sometimes cause your character to freeze and glitch around on your opponent's screen. This has happened to me multiple times in SG and Arena PvP.
Hey, In my opinion lower ping is the better option 100%. I live in Australia and the number of games I have lost due to a massive lag spike which causes all of the players around me to freeze and then unfreeze which by the time that happens I'm already dead. I wish I had higher ping on the server but its not really an option as the server is hosted in America. So, in conclusion, yes lower ping is better than higher ping. Wilbur
I personally play on high ping as I am an Eu player and I have to say I wouldn’t say it is too bad! You get use to the bow shots and the delay of the arrows really easily! I try to stay away from pot pvp though, (the main reason being the potion delay). I have a good connection so I do not get big lag spikes unless I am downloading / uploading during a game. I would personally say that lower ping is better though for hit registration and pot registration etc. -ImConcerned
For pvp, it is better to have a lower ping because the lower the ping you have, the faster your hits will register which can also allow you to combo your opponent a slight bit easier.
Lower ping. I get 90-100 ping which isn’t awful but having 16-22 ping on hypixel makes me see low ping is an extreme advantage. I hope saying hypixel in this thread doesn’t break any rules D:
Higher ping. If you play Pot PvP you will most likely disagree with me because having high ping in Pot PvP is almost always unplayable. I struggle tracking down players who teleport or take delayed knockback, it's A LOT harder to strafe when fighting against them as you can't proper track them. Low ping is really good for Pot PvP or Gapple PvP as those game modes require your Hit registration, Gapple registration, and Potion registration to be on point. However, since "Classic PvP" is considered plain diamond armor with a sword and bow, I will say that High Ping is better than low ping.
I think when you have 80ms to 130ms it’s an advantage at least on other servers like lunar and minemenclub, the delayed hits are overpowered and it appears for the players that has low ping’s perspective that they are reaching
While low ping isn't nearly as good as everyone thinks, high ping definitely isn't an advantage. I get an average of 10-30 ping on the server, and while it's nice, there are better ping ranges. My hits realistically aren't delayed one bit, making it harder to get a combo on somebody; the tradeoff to this is that my knockback isn't delayed, so it's harder for people to combo me. I believe that anywhere from 80-110 is the best ping range, as your hits are perfectly delayed to allow you to get good combos on people, no matter what your CPS is. I get this ping on Hypixel and I do MUCH better on the PvP gamemodes. While getting 200 ping has its ups and downs, I feel that the negatives vastly outweigh the positives. I have quite a few Australian friends, and they have all said that they would rather have low ping than high ping.
The lower the ping, the better. This way you can dominate thems childrens and have it be done in clean hits. When my ping goes up, my fps go down and sometimes i get lag spikes so high ping is NOT fun for me.
