I love almost all of these ideas, and would love to see them implemented in the next season or two. There are a few other features I think Skyblock could use too: When placed, a spawner is "owned" by whoever placed it, and can only be broken by them or the island leader. While this is a step in the right direction to reduce spawner theft, an island leader can still kick their members and keep the spawners they bought. If spawners were "linked" to whoever bought them originally, the buyer could maintain ownership of the spawner in the event of them being kicked or the island leader breaking the spawners. The general idea here would be that whenever a spawner is broken or its owner is kicked from an island, it would go directly to their inventory (or maybe some kind of enderchest-type deal if their inventory is full,) so that you can't get scammed by island leaders. An update to 1.12 would be nice seeing as how Survival got the same treatment and they seem to be doing okay. I think we'd all like to be able to dual-wield building blocks or fly around our favorite islands with elytra. The ability to use hoppers to take items from chest shops would be extremely useful, though I can imagine the trouble it would take to prevent people from stealing from their island members' shops using this. Perhaps it would only be accessible to whoever placed it? I'm not sure, I guess it's really up to the devs. I think it would still be worth it, as sell shops could avoid getting their chests filled with just a couple hoppers and large chests. Please make melons not good in season 10, I'm starting to get sick of them... A slight revamp of the kits could be useful. Diamond rank gives essentially the best kit because the diamond tools can be put on an enchantment table and easily resold for upwards of 100k, while the later ranks' kits cannot (a level 3 enchant can give unb III + fortune III + eff IV to a pick decently often). Messages to new players the first couple times they join recommending they visit /warp tutorial and look at /is help would be a huge help in clearing up chat, as many rookies end up not knowing how to do a lot of important things like inviting their friends or how to format a sell sign. Anyway, that's pretty much all I've got. Not too confident many of these will be added but it's nice to hope.
I do like a lot of these ideas. I would love to see these implemented next season, it would make the game a lot more interesting and fun to play.
you said Reduce Spawner cost, remove Spawner Cap, remove Spawner token cost This would be a horrible idea even if you nerfed payback rates because The Chunk Loader Prices would sky rocket by 50-100% Right now on skyblock two i would estimate Chunk Loaders to be at around 40-50m per they could double and go up to 80-100m per chunk loader if you remove tokens and have it only based on spawners. Even if farming is increased money most people would still just afk the farms while holding left click checking there snapchat. A Good idea I thought of before reading the rest of your hardly thought through and made thread was that you can maybe buy Harvest Hoes or Chunk Loaders or some items you may get from keys because not everyone has money. Ideas -Be able to buy some items such as HH, Sellwands, ChunkLoaders holoskulls. But Make them very pricey so that it kind of cancels out the fact that you can still get them from keys. So its alot more expensive since you have a small chance to get some of these. -The Sell wand idea that you came up with is Great but i think maybe 80-90% because some big farms that hold 4k spawners dont have enough time to sell everything so it gives the people who worked hard less money. i ran out of ideas thanks for checking my reply out! -Your Governor on Skyblock 2
I love a lot of these changes. Something that I think these changes are doing right is not allowing people to have an island of 8-10. From experience, the largest island that I have been apart of has had 7-9 people and it has also got the farthest. I think changing to 3-5 is smart because it would allow for a "smaller" island that couldn't get overpowered from not having 8-10 to show that they can compete. If you're like me you didn't start this season, in the beginning, is you have trouble getting to the top. If these changes were in the game it would allow for many people who couldn't get that push to finally achieve it. A lot of the people who are not for some of these changes are the ones who are always on top of the leaderboards. When you are not on the top leaderboards but still know how to do skyblock it is not very "fun" because you know you're not going to make it to the top. The changes that we all read above are not to help the top islands. They are to help the little guy. Most of the top islands started in the first 1-2 weeks. If we asked them to start over now, they would never be able to make it. Now that's how the lower islands feel. If these changes are added it would make it a lot more fair to all not just the 8-10 island groups.
Hey kieren! I love these ideas! you are making me excited for next season! I would say the afk/alt profits SHOULD be non profitable, it removes alot of the grinding and gives some islands a bigger advantage. + id like the extra ranks like chilo said. I cant wait for next season and i definetely hope that some of your suggestions get implemented:)

Wonderful job, Kieren. I quite like the ideas you've presented here, and I hope season 10 seeks these out and adds them to the mix! One thing that I've witnessed in season 9 is the unusually limited selection of blocks being offered in the /shop and generators (and let's not mention how expensively it taxes players to use these generators to simply obtain these small selections of blocks). I would love to see a larger and more diverse /shop variety for players to choose from, as well as cheaper and new generators, like dirt generators (that will be charged to use of course). Not only will these enable players to expand their creativity once they get the profits to do so, but it will also entice others to introduce new shops into the SB server's economy. There have always been 3 core elements to skyblock that I've considered essential: 1. being the farming/afking, 2. being the PvP, and 3., above all else, the building. After all, skyblock is all about designing an island in the sky, is it not? Where is the enjoyment of spending a season on an island that holds block restrictions on your creativity? It's something I think everyone should take into consideration because let's face it; where is the interest in dull rainbow beacons and quartz boxes barring off the rest of the island with glass? Bring back the variety, and I promise that you won't be disappointed.

Probably the most comprehensive improvement thread I have ever read... and bravo! I think most of these ideas are absolutely great.. with a few exceptions of course. I believe that adding a sponsored message in chat would be a huge mistake. It would be completely dominated by the top 3 24/7 and it would just become annoying on top of their afk'd chat ads anyway. There are plenty of ways to take money out of the economy, but that is not one. Secondly, all crop types need to be just as profitable as the next. Sure, there will always be a META, but that's not to say that the other crops can't be a good source. Season 9 was by far the worst I have seen this. It was melons and warts with absolutely nothing close to it. Vines were taken care of right away, but that was to be expected. That brings me to my next point: AFK income AFK income needs to be nerfed completely. By mid-season 9 I was already almost entirely just afking my incomes and it was boring and I felt there was no worth left for me to be there. On top of that, it awards islands with little members... as long as they are willing to grind, of course. Next, please please please please enable redstone clocks, hopper clocks or just one of the many. There are plenty of ways to optimize lag and input but that one is essential to skyblock function. It allows players to vary from island to island and allows them to build efficiency in their farming. It was probably the most frustrating thing for me last season while trying to farm for wood (which is absolutely awful by the way and could use a better solution), but I digress. I tried to make a simple tree farm that used a hopper clock for placing bone meal and it would just break the redstone, which was by design of the admins. At the very least consider enabling them once the player base begins to drop midseason. Lastly, I believe the rank immortal is a bit week and should yield better monthly awards than just an ancient key. I think ranks as a whole need an overhaul because they are by far the weakest on this server that I have seen for the price. It appears greedy to me, but everyone has differing opinions when it comes to donator perks and such so I will leave it for discussion. These are completely objective and are only my opinions, feel free to reply back with your ideas.
OH, ALSO.... Please add a CE of some sort that allows items to be added directly into an inventory like at /warp generators. Clear lag would be almost useless if this one thing was added. Early season farming melons is the most frustrating thing when you lose yield because the melons just aren't going into your inventory.
Kieren, this is amazing I’m looking forward so much! I have recently started playing factions and the commands in factions such as /f inspect is a great command but should be implemented into skyblock (/sb inspect) sothat island leaders can check without having to ask staff to /co. Another amazing thing in factions is the ranking system, (Leader, co-leader, officer, member and recruit) I think these should be added to skyblock and made customisable sothat only certain ranks can withdraw from the island bank and higher ranks can withdraw, this can also apply to maybe a shared island chest (/is chest) sothat only certain players can access it. Secondly make it that when blocks are mined they go straight into your inventory, like in prison, this prevents people from losing items to clear lag, falling into the void or someone else picking it up. Finally people love discord and minecraft bots, there is a plug-in called DiscordSRV which makes discord bots so much easier to program and therefore you can track stats, island top and may more interesting things. Remove chunk loader and add something like a chunk collector that collect crops + mob drops. Infinite sell wand that you can only buy in the buycraft would be nice. Im so sick of buying sell wands lol. Remove /warp blocks and bring back the good ol cobble gen. Have a nice day!
