/spec. It is self explanatory. Basically, mods will be able to spectate people to observe if they are hacking. A tool that would be beneficial to those who need them. Some forums may have suggested this idea before but it has not been added to the MCC. I understand the MCC team works very hard everyday for things like resets. However, the staff team also works hard when it comes to this as well. They may spend hours on end just searching for the one hacker. Sure, players can do reports but in the end, will we really be able to catch a multitude of hackers? The main reason I am suggesting this is because of skywars. I’m sure countless times people who have played skywars have seen people just flying to mid and getting all the loot. Inside, players might feel a sense of anger towards these kind of people. Therefore, they take their anger out on these players who hack and get muted as a result while the hacker still remains at large. I understand that mutes must be issued but it serves a kind of unfairness because the hacker is still there and players get muted. If I were this player, my first thought would be mods have too much time to mute and not ban. However, I am not and therefore render this statement untrue. Mods spend a Long time just SEARCHING for hackers. They need to find usernames and if they cannot find that username they can spend a Long time trying to find it. If creators could add /spec, it would mean players could drop a name in the forum list and of course, trolling can get you banned. This is a great suggestion. Second, I’m sure the creators try to compete with other big servers like hypixel. Hypixel has an anti cheat which may not do much but still does something. On top of that, they also have mods to help them. However, on MCC, we only have mods. I’m not saying we should add an anti cheat. I’m saying if /spec were to be put in place, it would save a lot of time and could possibly be a better option compared to an anti cheat system. If MCC desires to compete with big name servers like Hypixel, they need to start by removing their hacker problem. This makes MCC enjoyable for everyone and moreover, new players would be grateful since they have been dealing with this problems because players with immortal or a high rank can easily buy up the store and use e pearls or their equipment, while new players get stuck because of the hacker situation, creating a problem by making them stuck and not able to progress. This is from a player point of view so I thought I would add in a Mod point of view. This is not a rant and mod names would remain anonymous: 1.It’s doing /isonline a billion times to see if they joined a new game and then missing them then waiting and missing them again to find out that they know ur staff and now won’t hack or they’ll just log
Hey Rip_evan, this is a great suggestion that I 100% support! This is something that we hopefully will be seeing in the upcoming minigames revamp that should be happening somewhere this year. I also completly agree with you on that the anti-cheat could be improved but that adding a /spec feature probably would be a better option. Great suggestion +1 -Issel
Hi there, I'm not sure if you realize but MCC does indeed have an anti-cheat, although it may not be obvious (just from your comment "I’m not saying we should add an anti-cheat"). In case you haven't heard, sometime in the summer this year, MCC will be revamping minigames and this new revamp will come along with a new and hopefully improved anti-cheat. I also agree with the /spec command. It would start with a player saying a hackers username in the #support channel in the MCC discord and a staff member would then join the minigame with the hacker and would have to keep rejoining lobbies until coming across the hacker - adding a /spec (username) would save a lot of trouble and can get the hacker banned a lot faster and it would be more efficient. Awesome idea! +1 Have a lovely day! (:
I don't see why this shouldn't be a thing. This seems like a must. Not only will this addition make it easier for moderators to locate hackers, but it'll also make the process for reporting hackers way less tedious. As of now, the process includes having video, publishing it to YouTube, then putting the link as evidence, which many players are too lazy to do. I think with this addition should also come an in-game report feature, so that moderators could have a gander at it and use the /spec command on said reported player. This is a +1 from me.
