After thinking for a while I still see no possible reason why cobblestone generators built in an island won't spawn ores now. However, a lot of reasons as to why they should spawn them come to mind. -The island is a more accessible place for people to go and stay mining, since when people start a small island they will most likely have the generator very close to their other stuff, and there's really no need to have a warp to generators around the spawn. -Since the generators at spawn are public, many people might end up mining at the same generator. In your island it's just you and your teammates, and if you don't have a warp the chance of having someone else coming to bother you at your island is 0%. -Let's imagine you just started playing and you're mining using a stone pickaxe at a generator, while a more expert player is also mining there with a much faster pickaxe. It's just not fair to the first person if they're trying to break some lapis and a guy comes and "steals" it in an instant. -Ores don't drop from these generators: they go directly to your inventory instead once you break them. This causes players to be able to break any block with their bare hands and still get the ore, which is absurd, and I'll explain why: you can simply start breaking blocks with your hand while afk and you won't lose any tools in the process. Yes, it will take significantly longer, but remember we're technically talking about a functional tool with infinite durability (your hand). -Some players are more comfortable with their own versions of generators. You know, those typical generators that push down rows of 6 or 7 blocks, or even more. If players are allowed to build their own functional generators at their islands, they're able to build generators that can produce many more blocks in a smaller amount of time. Isn't that the point of Skyblock after all? To increase and upgrade your farms, your generators and so on? Mining from the same type of generator all the time does not sound like an upgrade to me. I know nobody's stopping players from building their own generators, but the problem is that they won't spawn any ores.
Hello I see where you come from but i dont think that generators should drop ores in islands for one simple reason: players would afk mine, either using a client or putting something on their LMB. Also, I haven’t seen more than 3 people using the generators in spawn (sb1) at the same time so i don’t think that the amount of people using those is a huge issue. Also I don’t see a point on using your hands to mine when you can just vote and use the money you earn to buy better pickaxes. However this is just my opinion and i would love to see other opinions on this. Have a nice day
With dropping ores, do you mean cobblestone too? Also, can't you just add the system of ores not dropping to generators in players' islands? And what about the other points I made?
heyo! i can see where you come from about the generators at spawn; however i’ve seeb many skyblock servers with this kinda setup. i’ve also seen skyblock servers where ores spawn on island generators. i think what the difference between those servers and mcc’s skyblock is that mcc’s sb’s economy is more favored towards farming and spawners, not so much mining. also what my problem with ores spawning in islands, at least for mcc, is that this can encourage client modifications for afk’ing and mining, autoclicking, or having a weight on their break button- as mentioned above. and although, with ores, you can use them to create blocks to raise your island level, its more efficient just to afk a spawner or make a large farm and use profit from those to buy the ores yourself. :D also wanna say that there’s like 4 or 6 cobble generators at spawn, and all of them aren’t always filled with players. ok’k. i know this didn’t address all of your points, but i hope this feedback helped overall, i think the way generators are in skyblock as of now works fine and don’t see ores generating in island generators being implemented. as always, have a good day! ~puposaurus
Mine do. Since day 1 of this season. Are you sure that doesn’t happen to you because of a rank of yours? I share an island with a friend and that has never happened to both of us.
I’ve seen many people doing that last one at spawn many times. Actually I rarely see someone mining at spawn without being AFK, so what is exactly the difference?
not so much afk'ing, but the fact they'd be autoclicking/hacking. since they're at spawn, they can be caught by staff or normal players. unlike if it was on their own island where a staff would have to teleport to them w/o requesting a teleport.
