Hey there everyone! Now this idea is a crazy idea that i think should be added in prison... A stock market. So how this should work is first we need gangs and the gangs will have money deposited inside it so this will lead to the richest gang on the top. Then it will show how much money it has been gaining and losing as a percentage. So now we move onto the shares. I dont know what the shares can be but examples are gangs or ores or other things. This is just the first thread and i made it just so everyone can comment on it and tell their opinions. If most people agree with this idea i will do some more research and expand this idea. Sorry if this is very confusing. Thanks! Have a lovely day or night. --==Smoked_ Immortal==--
Hi Smoked_! As gangs have already been implemented into the Prison gamemode I'm going to just talk about the stock market idea. Personally I don't really understand how this would work, are you saying that your gang puts money into the bank with /gang deposit and then that money will increase/decrease like a stock market? Would the increase and decrease of the gangs balance be based on the live stock market or would a simulated stock market created by the developers be used. I just feel like there is so many factors that could effect this and it doesn't really make a huge impact on the game. Unfortunately its a -1 from me. However, if you want to elaborate the suggestion a bit more I'm sure I'd be able to give some more feedback. - 6hb
Sometimes it does seem like the prison system simulates capitalism, like with using work like mining to earn money and being paid by either the "government" (server sellshops @ mines) or private company owners (sellshops) so an implementation of a stock market would make it more interesting and realistic to "real world capitalism." When i read this, i tried to put it in the context of how real-world stock markets could be directly applied to the prison economy. So. In real life, as you know, stocks come into existence when a growing company needs money/investments in order to grow. They try to find people who will give them money for as much, and then in return are granted a share of ownership in the company. With some varieties of stocks the "stock owners"/investors are paid a percentage of what the company makes based on how many stocks they own. For instance if someone owned a 10% stock in the company they could be paid 10% of their profits for each month. This could be an interesting system, where perhaps MCC implements a "scam-proof" investment system where people who mine or whatever invest in people trying to make sellshops/public grinders and need money for buying ores or buying spawners, and in return these people would somehow get an official stake in the profits made from said ventures (perhaps getting a part of money earned from sign shops in return?) I don't quite know how this would be handled without adding a lot more outside involvement in how the economy runs. For instance with a sell shop, would a person make a part of the profit when the shop owner sells to the mines? What if shop owner was selling ores they'd mined themself, this would not be a product of the invested-in company and therefore shouldn't cause a payout to "investors"... so I'm not sure how it would work. After all, a major difference between prison capitalism and reality capitalism is the law! But it seems like a really interesting idea that could really boost the immersion of the prison economy. How it would function though in a server of scammers and complex methods of making income is certainly beyond me!
I personally don't think that a stock market will be that great. People already become rich really fast so adding a stock market will just increase the amount of money people get. Also, this idea will be really complicated to apply and maintain throughout the season. For the younger kids that play on here, it will be difficult for them to grasp the idea. I am -1 on the idea. Thanks for reading <3
I think a stock market in prison would be awesome because of how much money people make during the course of a season
