Let's be honest. Season 7 is just absolute shit. Prison peaked in seasons 2 and 5, and while there were issues in all seasons, even the best ones, prison was always at least playable.
But it's simply not anymore. Several ideas and features were implemented this season that make the game non-entertaining and invaluable for the player-base. Some ideas, which were developed to balance the economy, simply weren't thought through.
The Spawner Nerf: The nerf on spawners was meant to balance the money flowing through the economy last season, especially the multi-billionaires that filled the premiering pages of /baltop. However, the nerfs on spawners were too critical on the economy. Spawners represent the grinding part of prison. Many players mine to get spawners and then use the spawners they have accumulated to gain more wealth, and therefore, accrue more spawners and extend themselves in net worth. The spawner nerf makes it so spawners have little value in comparison to where they used to be last season. At an estimated value of drops at 10k an hour, it would take a spawner 500 hours to receive their original value, roughly nearing 3 weeks. This spawner nerf contributes to the belittlement of token value, another horrible concept caused by the implementations of this season.
The Coinflip Tax: The conflip tax is, to be simply put, unacceptable. A large portion of the prison community has an undeniable gambling addiction and the tax is meant to combat people from earning their worth through gambling but rather through gambling against other players. However, while I may be a bit of a coinflip addict myself, I can certify that the tax does the opposite. The tax, in fact, encourages players to gamble, as it adds an additional difficulty to create opportunity through gambling. I, throughout nearly all of my cf career, have been at negative profit and have had several seperate runs for profit. I may not have immediately noticed when I was doing larger coinflips, but when I look back at my cf stats, I am upset that I am placed on biggest losers due to several hundred million being taken from "the house." Several players who don't have very much net worth rely on this feature to increase their personal value.
The token devaluization: Tokens are horrible this season. As of nearly all seasons with prison tokens as an integrated feature, they have been a key role in developing the economy. The price for the /enchanter feature has changed from 50 to 30, and spawners have been nerfed. Throughout all of these nerfs, token prices have reduced to 30-40% of their value from previous seasons. Since tokens are of high value within the purchase of spawners and enchanted books, including the newly added miners delight 2 books, tokens should have higher value. Tokens are even a commodity to be obtained through keys, from voting keys to even purchasable crates such as ancient and mythic keys. Tokens should atleast be granted enough value to certify a critical role within the economy.
There's also the incredible incompetence that I've seen from staff this season. Upon asking several staff if certain things were mutable, I achieved 5 mutes in the first week of the new season, 4 of which were near-immediately appealed falsemutes. I've seen staff abuse their powers to escape playertraps, and then banning them for "obstruction of server." I've seen staff, from helpers to sr. mods, refuse to help me simply because "they didn't like this server I played on." I've seen too many things that just make me unwilling to play the server in its current state.
There are good things about the season 2, such as the introduction of upgradable pickaxes and miner's delight books, and... and nothing else. The server needs to be fixed.
Edit: Upon reviewing all this, I realize that many of these things are to make Pay2Win viable. Please don't go down that road, MCC.
Edit 2: Currently have roughly ~30-40 players in a player strike movement to help reform prison. I'll make a new petition-style thread that various players can sign to help send a heavy message that reform is needed. Coming out soon.

Completely agree with this 100% its almost to the point where they need to reset and try again or if not that do a mid season update and fix everything. Get it fixed before you ruin the gamemode completely MCC!!!

Yea, I feel like they should introduce mid-season updates as it'll fix problems that the community may have problems with and may have the potential to bring new content apart from the new season.

I agree 100% I asked players if they enjoyed this map and some did cause they were new or rich, and most of them weren't happy with this season. I played season 5 and I found that season to be one of the best seasons MCC has released. I've been around MCC since late 2014 and I take breaks from the server cause it starts to get boring after awhile or there is something the community heavily dislikes. I hope next season MCC listens to what the players and not ignore some good ideas that would help out the server and keep players interested.

    Hello,

I agree some changes were bad but most were for the better.
First up, the spawner nerf was a terrific idea because it stopped the player base from being 50% afk's but I do believe the spawner nerf may have been a bit harsh but it did exactly what it was intended purpose was. This addition with the upgradeable pick made the community actually work hard for the money to prestige instead of seeing who could afk the most to make the most money. On another note, if spawners make about 10k this season, last season they made about 17-20k per hour.

Secondly, tokens prices are good. Tokens hovering around the 5k ish mark is a good place to keep them because it allows the economy to stay relatively good with where players are at the how many players have spawners. Increasing the price of tokens would destroy the economy like last season when tokens reached a peak of almost 80k. I know many players who quit due to the rising costs as it wasn't viable enough except for the super rich. This also destroyed the economy as well as the rising prices of gapples. I don't want the season's economy to be destroyed so easily by 1 item. They should also change how many tokens you can get in each key due to the prices being lower.

Lastly about cf tax. There are a huge amount of players complaining but also complementing the introduction of this tax. I think there should be tax depending on the amount players are willing to cf. But probably up to a max of 5% at 100 million. Any other thing is the talk of removing the cf system totally and I do feel this could make MCC better. But the message from cf is, if you lose a large amount, you've only got yourself to blame

    Thanks,

Honestly, I've been playing since 2014 Season 2 and I gotta say, Season 7 and Season 5 are my favorites so far. This season theres so much new things, everythings so easy to navigate, and its so easy for new players. Spawners arent that dependable anymore which makes them a bit more worthless. But here in Season 7 theres gang top, kill top, and even block top! Theres so much to compete for now so its not just a cash grind. And honestly, I feel like this is one of the least pay2win seasons in quite a while (other than kits). I love it.

We are not going towards p2w. If anything we went away when we give everyone up-gradable pickaxes. Many people wanted spawners nurfed more or removed completely. We nurfed a little bit to try and make everyone as happy as possible. Same with coin-flips. A lot of community wanted coin-flips completely removed. The house adds a balance to it. I am not totally sure what you mean about tokens, If they should be easier to get or harder to get. Talking about the staff, Any staff issues you should report them on the forums. You cant expect things to be fixed if you never report them.

Spawners don't even make 10k per hour, but almost 9k. I would personally raise it up to 15k, to make them good enough (they are not even decent rn)

Hi! I’m not much of a Prison player; however, I really thoroughly enjoyed reading this. It’s very concise with your points and your sentences are structurally taught. I’ve heard that Prison, more specifically the new season, has hit a hard wall; however, I still hope for the best. I’m glad that the people tried out the new prison and are still willing to play it— even if it does in fact suck. I hope your conflicts become resolved. (Also, for the staff thing, you can always make a staff report however, I believe you may have already known that)
TLDR; very good “essay”, hope your conflicts become resolved.
