I have a friend who has been suffering through a lot of harassment on MCC. It's gotten extremely out of hand and really needs to be dealt with. Myself, along with many others have contacted MCC Staff about this and say that they cannot do anything about it since it's not in the rules. Because of this, I would like a new rule formed around harassing players and making it a punishable offence. No one on any network should have to suffer and not have a good time because of other players. I hope you consider this. Also please tell me what you think about this rule and any other suggestions regarding it.

Imagine feeling harassed by words over the internet. Now onto the topic, there are rules about this in the rules page but they fall under different names like Player Disrespect. Threats, Death Threats, etc.

uh ok you do you but the reason I suggest it is because there are other forms of harassment that don't directly fall under player disrespect, death threats, threats etc.
If you think that people can't get harassed online then you must think that people who get charged for harassment over texts are innocent? Bit stupid if you ask me but ok

    Hey!

Could you please show some examples of what exactly "Isn't mute-able for harassment?". Like EssentialsPlus said, many things fall under categories like Disrespect, Discrimination, Threats etc.

If there is something that is genuinely upsetting that someone says then it should be mute-able.

    Have a good one :D

    I would like to share but the evidence I have is all personal to the player who is being harassed. I don't want to share anything without their consent but I'll give you an idea of what I'm talking about;
"literally nobody likes you get off the fucking server"
"get harassed, <users name>, get harassed"
"let me talk to <user> or ill expose <users> nudes, im pretty good with photoshop"
Staff deemed these as not punishable even though there's clear evidence of threats, player disrespect and more. I have more examples but I think these are good enough an example

If this is the case there would be no need for a new rule, just for this to be mute-able as player disrespect. I am surprised if Staff wouldn't mute for this. This should definitely be mute-able as swearing at players is not allowed for #1 but is extremely disrespectful.

I only suggest the new rule because they said it isn't punishable and because of that, under a new rule theses offences could be considered punishable

You clearly don't seem to understand the rules very well.. In the example you just said you could chatreport that player for explicit conversation or disrespect.

    Hello!

The rule for player disrespect can stretch over a lot of things. Your first example would be player disrespect. The second one isn't really mute worthy. And as Essentials said, the last one would be explicit conversation. Not everything said in a mean-spirit is going to call for a mute, however some things do. If something like this happens, doing /chatreport would be your best option so other staff and I could look at it and deal with the situation appropriately. But player harassment does have a rule, which is Player Disrespect / Abuse of Players. Which is why no new rules needs to be created, as there already is one.

    ksaghdioagsodi;lsha HELLO!
so. like, disrespect is really dependent on the staff who reviews it.. whether it's through a witness or a report..
As TrippedUp said, those are his opinions.. blah blah blah. in my personal opinion, I can see how both are bad and such; however I know every staff wouldn't agree that's disrespect.
the first one is def. disrespect. the second, ain't as much since it can be taken as a joke; HOWEVER, if they continue or a little more context is given, then yes, it can be muteable offence. the third one seems like explicit convo, which is a higher severity than the disrespect, meaning a longer mute time...

hope this post made sense and addressed your points.

anyways. i don't see a full need on changing the rule it's just dependent on the staff. and although some staffa re biased *cough* you can always bring it up w/ another staff or just forums report it
