    Introduction
This is a Q&A/guide that will help you get accustomed to some of the main features of the new MCCentral forum and the Xenforo forum software which powers this forum.

Many of you may already be familiar with Xenforo, but many of you may not. This forum post will cover topics that will help newcomers and those wanting a refresher. If you have any questions or comments on what should be added, please leave them below. Staff members, if you believe this thread should be locked and just read-only, that is completely fine with me as well. Just PM me here on the forums if you have any recommendations for the thread.

You can begin the account creation process by clicking one of the options in the image below or by following this link. You will need a valid email address you can access and be able to verify your age upon registration. After registering, check your email to verify and complete the process.

You can link your account here on the website through your Account Settings. Check out the "How can I customize my profile?" section for more details in account customization.

The first step for linking your Minecraft account is going in-game and into one of the lobbies. You should then run the command /link. From here, you will be directed to this website to finish the linking process. Once completed, your account will be linked and your Minecraft character will be shown on your profile page.

You may also view what account you have linked or unlink your account by visiting the Link Account section of your Account Settings.

Please keep in mind you can only link one account at a time.

There are multiple ways to privately contact users on the forums.

Message the user directly from their profile (click/tap the "Information" tab):

Message them from a forum post:

Message them from the node/thread list:

You can also message multiple users at once creating a group conversation. Simply separate their names via commas. You can only add up to 5 users!

On top of the website on a computer, you can view the navigation bar. On mobile, you can simply tap "Menu" at the top right of the page. Here you will see the navigation bar of the website. Down below you will see an image and a brief explanation of each option.

Home: This will take you to the home page of the forums where you can view site announcements.

Store: Here you can view the server store to purchase donator ranks, keys, cosmetics, etc.

Forums: Here you can view the forum list and visit/post in various sub-forums.

Staff: Here you can view a list of all staff members along with staff sub-teams and their members.

Rules: Here you can view the official rules for various parts of MCC along with the Allowed Modifications for the server.

Vote: Here you can vote on the different voting sites for various in-game rewards as well as view the top voters of the month.

Leaderboards: Here you can view the leaderboards for all the minigames and subservers of the network.

A forum signature appears below forum posts in different threads (view an example in the spoiler below or below this post). The purpose of a signature is to uniquely identify to others who you are. So you can modify your signature to adhere to just that! Just make sure your signature does not violate the Forum Rules.

To create one, make sure you are signed in. You'll want to click your username on the top right (both on desktop and mobile) and click/tap "Signature". You'll reach the page below where you can begin to create your signature.

You can either use the Rich Text Editor or the BBCode editor to create your signature. It's up to you for what you feel most comfortable with. Fun Fact: You have the option to easily switch between both editors site-wide.

Once you have created your signature, you can preview the changes to see how it will look and then save your changes for your new forum signature to show site-wide.

The MCC forums offer multiple sub-forums that are specific to different topics such as different sub-servers or if you want to introduce yourself. Simply navigate to the forum in the forum list and click "Post New Thread" if you wish to create a new thread.

If you want to jump in on a current thread, then simply select that thread, scroll down and you will see the text box where you can type your response.

Before posting, please make sure the content of your posts abides by the Forum Rules.

You can visit your profile by clicking your username on the top-right and then clicking "Your Profile Page". On mobile, just tap your username on the top-right and then tap it again. You will then arrive at your profile page.

You will follow a similar process when accessing your own profile or someone else's elsewhere on the forums. Sometimes a popup, like the one below, will show. Simply click or tap "Profile Page" to get to a profile page of a user.

There are various ways you can customize your profile. It's recommended for new users to go through these options and configure them to your preference. Each option will be briefly broken down:

Personal Details: Here you can change your avatar and other basic information such as your location, about me, description, etc.

Signature: Here you can change your signature which will show below your forum posts on Desktop. Read more information above in the "What is a forum signature? How can I create one?" section.

Contact Details: Here you can adjust how you wish to be contacted on the forums and other forum news. You can also add different third-party platforms you can be contacted on such as Discord, Twitter, etc and change your email/password.

Privacy: Here you can adjust various privacy options from who can view your profile to who can message you on the forums.

(Browsing) Preferences: Here you can adjust your timezone and other forum-related preferences.

Alert Preferences: Here you can adjust what types of alert notifications you would like to receive.

You can "follow" other users on the forums. This is similar to adding them as a friend. Others can follow you as well. When following a user, you can see different things they do on the forums such as posting a thread, adding a rating to a thread or creating a profile post.

You can access your own personalized newsfeed and see what users who you follow are doing by clicking/tapping your username in the top-right and selecting "Your News Feed".

You can block or ignore a user using the "Ignore" feature of the website. When ignoring them, you will not be notified of any conversations, threads, posts, or profile posts where they mention you. Conversations will still be submitted to you, but you won't be notified.

You can ignore a user directly from the node/thread list, a thread or via their profile page. Check the images below for examples.

    From the node/thread list:

    From a thread:

    From a profile page:

You can report a user violating the Forum Rules through the Report Players forum. In-Game, Forums and Discord reports are all handled here.

You can appeal a punishment via the Punishment Appeals forum.

For more information on donation issues, please read this forum post.

For more information on applying for the YouTuber rank, please visit the YouTuber Application forum.

If you have a question, issue or want to assist others in the community, you may visit the Support Forums to have your questions answered or give answers.

Only provide answers that you are sure of! Ask a staff member if you're not sure. If asking a specific question, try searching in the forum for any topics about your question.

Around the website, there is a search bar below the header on desktop and a search button (looks like the eyeglass emoji) on mobile. By clicking or tapping, you can search the forums for various content and even members.

Not only can you search for various content, but you can even search for members as well via the Members section of the website.

When searching on the forums, you can go as narrow or wide as you want through the Search section of the website. You can filter keywords, member, forums, etc.

Great, helpful post Anthony! This will surely help new players. Not trying to criticise as it is a great guide, but what about adding something related to the Support Forum? Like "where can I go for help?"

This can be added! And it's not necessarily critiquing. That's a suggestion which I'm willing to implement!

    Edit: This has been added!

    Hello,
This can help new players out on the server! It didn't really help me much considering the experience I have with XenForo (The Forums Software), but this indeed helped a lot of players as you can see above me, and below me! I hope they pin this!

If you have any questions just message me on discord at 4Nut#2232, or on my profile page!

Hey xSinclare, I first want to thank you for making this forum post!
I'm sure this can help players a lot especially the new ones. This has helped me quite a bit since it has been a while since I've played on a server that used Xenforo. Once again, thank you for making this forum post.

Quick suggestion/fix: you actually can link your in-game player to your forums account. To do this, type /link in-game, and follow the link you are provided. Login to the forums, and your character will now be linked. Otherwise, an amazing thread! I think this is definitely something that should be stickied :)

Amazing thread Anthony. I’m new to Xenforo and I had no idea how to use this. I’ve seen quite a few people also asking how to use it and I wasn’t able help them but now I can. Hope they sticky this so it can be viewed by more.
