So players have never been able to fully delete their plots, only clear them. So once you claim a plot, you can never delete it, you're essentially stuck in one spot until a full server reset.

With this, players would be able to unclaim their current plot and claim another one somewhere else. This would most likely happen if someone was either unhappy with the "/p auto" location, or they wanted to move their plot closer to a friend. I don't really see any cons to adding this, and now that Survival is resetting I think now would be a perfect time to add it.

    +1

Was always frustrated that I couldn't completely remove my plot especially if the plots around me caused lag or didn't look too great. Seems really easy to implement and I'm struggling to think of a reason why it hasn't already been done.

It is, the plugin they use for plots (PlotsSquared) even has this feature built-in (/p delete). It's only a matter of them giving people permission to delete their own plots.

hey ankh! in the plugin there is “/p dispose” but it’s diabled for us, as you mentioned.
i personally don’t think it should be something that’s implemented.
with “/p auto” it can get kinda funky filling in plots that are unclaimed then following the system it uses just going up and down the plot id#s and stuff. also, i think that players could just use it to bypass “/p clear” or whatever... if i remember, it wasn’t something we were able to do in season6.. i could be wrong tho...
along with how the plots now have terrain this next coming season, i think that p disposing it can make it get all wonky and just be flat... unless it were to just revert back to the terrain it had at the beginning of the season..

anwyays these are just my thoughts.. hope it all makes sense

If it's a feature of the plugin, then the authors obviously coded it with that functionality in mind. It isn't going to cause any issues if people use the plugin the way it was made to be used.

Then give players /p clear as well, there's no reason wy they shouldn't have it in the first place. There's also a very clear warning of what you're doing as well as a command to confirm clearing/deleting plots, so the only way you would "accidentally" delete you plot would be if you ignored the warnings.

I wasn't aware of this, but they are likely just using a schematic for the plot. It would be easy for /p [clear/delete] to simply replace the currently existing plot with the original plot schematic, would be no different from the plot being flat.
