Party Chat

hello sir! i can see what you mean and i used to get annoyed by it, but now i’ve gotten used to it and 3 characters isn’t really that bad, or too difficult.
I really don’t see a need for toggling party chat on and off. In my opinion, I’d find that more annoying than typing “/pc” before each thing i say. Most times in games I like to bounce back and forth to party chat and global chat... and this ain’t hypickle where you type “/SHOUT”. ew. no. no...
also, with toggling party chat on and off it can get weird and wonky if someone forgets if they’re in party chat or not and would prolly have to type something in chat or type the toggle command again which is kinda poo tooo.
i feel like the reason why you’re able to toggle chats like team chat, gang chat, plot chat, island chat, fac chat.. is all because it’s something they don’ expect you to be in for a few seconds then skrt skrt back to global chat.. if that makes sense. like, team chat is where you’re talking to your team... and if your party is your team, then you can just use “/chat”, and not have to type “/pc” if it annoys you so much.

I think like chat on a plot in prisons where you have to do /p chat or /plot chat and toggle between plot and subserver chat, I think that having a feature like /party chat or /chat party would be useful.

pup i say that your not in party chat for a few minutes your in for a decent amount of time talking to friends. So I think it would help.

 

I think both ideas are good and they both also would work, as one already does. I feel that just typing /pc isn't really bad at all. especially since you can just hit the up arrow on your keyboard to send the same message you already sent. Also being able to lock the chat is pretty good too. I feel that if either one were to be added, I would still be content with how they are. But I also understand that it is frustrating to have to type /pc every time or even do what i suggested with the up arrow.

I would love for this to be added because i don't really like doing /pc to type every message when I am in a party so I would love for there to be a command to lock party chat. :D

 

For someone who isn't a party fan, I can't really argue either side. All I will say is that having permanent /pc isn't too different from /msg which doesn't 'lock' that chat method. I feel typing /pc isn't too much of a hassle. The purpose of /chat in teams is to help each other out and secretly communicate without the other team(s) being informed. Party chat doesn't need to follow this style.

 

I understand your point and that you don't play in parties that much so it all doesn't really bother you, but when people play Survival Games, a lot of people that are in parties with one another are usually teamed together on SG. As you have already seen in this post, I already think both methods will suffice for the server but I think a lot of SG players would be happy if they could lock /pc, so they don't have to type or do the up arrow method. As I have already said though, they would both work perfectly fine, just have to look at both sides and try to see where they are coming from.

 

I don't have a strong opinion on this; being more of a Solo Skywars player, there really isn't much in the way of teaming and all that... I can see where you're coming from, but at the same time I think it's not much of a hassle to just type /pc before each message. SG players certainly don't have slow hands, and I'd wager they spend more time typing out the actual message than typing /pc, so I don't see much value in the argument.
I wouldn't mind it being added, but I can see why it might not be added, and I wouldn't be too fazed the idea was scrapped. I'd like to see how this pans out :o

hi sir. ik i already replied, but after reading some these other replies.. i’d also like to add that i think the chats can get wahcked and confused if party chat was something you can toggle.
like, you could be in team chat, then have party chat toggled, not needing to use “/pc” and then how would it know if you’re wanting to use team chat or party chat since both are something you can toggle. same for p much evErY oTher chat you need to toggle(plot chat, gang chat, fac chat, etc). how would it know which one you’re using as party chat is something that you can use across the realms, subservers, lobbies, n’ such.
i just think that since plot chat is the way that it is, aBLe to be used across mcc, and not just one lobby or realm, i strongly disagree with this being added.

i understand what you mean. however, party chat is global across all subs serves and lobbies n’ such. so while it’s a good substitute for team chat or whatever, or maybe just murder mayehm, it can get whacked out if you’re on a subserved and trying to switch back n’ forth from plot chat to party chat or something.
i understand that parties are necessarily made for subservers, and such...
there have been times where half the party is playing ctf while another half if playing prison and we still in the party chatting to them. both prison and ctf have chats you toggle. plot chat & gang chat. ctf has team chat you can toggle on and off. i just really think that having a third chat that’s togglebale wouldn’t work At aLL.

Hello!

It would be useful and easier, but I think it's not an important detail to add since most people who are in a party are also usually in a call to avoid constantly type. Say your in a party in Team Skywars, it's much more easier to get into a call and vocally communicate since typing can be a hassle in general especially if you aren't good at reacting fast. I can see your side and how it can be beneficial, but at the moment I don't think it's needed now so it's a -1 from me.

well, I think it's a very interesting idea and it would be really much easier to talk to party people but I don't think it's something of extreme importance or need, it's not something that needs to be added urgently, it's just a facilitation. -1

 

Mmm, but the thing with this idea is that it isn't going to benefit the server much in any way; in fact, I only see it causing issues like Lilly pointed out. I still stand by my neutral position, but it is something to keep in mind.
