Hello MC Central community, hope you are having an amazing day! I'm here to give an opinion on something that I would think that would make the Discord be a bit cooler. This idea is having a staff of the month channel. There is already one of these but it is locked. In this channel you could specifically see all of the "staff of the month" that have been awarded. It would look something like this: "Staff of the month for [month] is: [staff]! Good job to [staff] you out did yourself this month! Make sure everyone to congratulate [staff]!" Thoughts?

However there is already an announcement like this in the #promotions tab but I think it should be separated from the promotions because it will show all the past SOTM and present SOTM. It really should be implemented and I suggest we could rephrase "Staff of the month for [month] is: [staff]! Good job to [staff] you out did yourself this month! Hello, dear! I appreciate your idea, however, I think it wouldn't be a great addition to our MCC Discord server: I think MCC Discord Server is fine the way it currently is. The reason I think we shouldn't have another channel related to Staff of the Month list is that we have already one! There's enough channels as it already is. Adding more would just make it even more cluttered and confusing to navigate. Especially for something as pointless as staff-of-the-month. Mentioning them in #promotions is more than enough.
The announcement is already put in the #Promotions channel, which is not cluttered at all. 1/3-1/4 of the messages in there are Staff of the Month announcements, so I don't really see a reason of adding a whole new channel just to see the people who have previously gotten it before. Again, I like the idea and it’s creative, but their is already an option on MCC’s Discord which allows you to select the channels you’d like alerts from, if you choose “Promotions” as one of those options, you will unlock the hidden channel, from their you can see any staff that gain a rank promotion, and all the people who are SOTM. Adding a new channel specifically for just SOTM when it’s mixed in with Promotions seems like a useless thing to do, the way that it works currently, you’re free to chose whatever notifications you want, and what you’d like to see.
just congratulate them elsewhere? they shouldn't need an entire channel just to be congratulated in. i understand why you suggested this an everything but theres literally no point
I can tell you been thinking about this idea, but I’m going to kindly disagree that this is needed. I see point for another channel when there’s already so many on the server. Thanks for the idea though!
From what I understand, you are trying to make this more organized, however, there's really no need. The channels are already organized as is. There's giveaways, promotions, and more.. And technically, SOTM is a promotion. It's just a subtle one. Also, it's one per month, right? SOTMonth, so it's not even that bad to include it in, heck, every channel. I'm just giving an example.
great idea however as people have already said, you can find the list of all previous staff of the month on the mcc wiki as listed by SannsCraft. there is also an announcement in the community discord #promotions when a new staff member is rewarded staff of the month. thread locked.
