I know we have /chatreport but, we need a /report to report hackers. I'm not always recording when I come across hackers in-game. I feel as if this would be helpful to clear the server of hackers. Thank you for your time <333
Hey there! I don't think there's a point on adding /report unless they add the possibility to spectate minigames. It would just waste staff member's time and people could use this to abuse. It's been suggested a lot of times before and it's always answered like this. I think it would be pretty good though! But only if they added the possibility to spectate minigames, or else I think it would be kind of useless at some point.
Hi there dresscodes, I totally agree with this idea I would like to see this idea get put in however reporting on the forums shows your time dedication to the server and effort also it is easier in my opinion I dont know why lol but this would be a nice idea. Thanks Have a lovely day or night --==FireyGast Immortal==--
hOi dresscodes, I don't think "/report" is all that necessary. I think the system they have now works decently... having a “/report” command wouldn’t be necessary as not everyone can identify when someone is actually hacking or if they’re just good. It would just waste staff’s time spectating and looking into players who aren’t even hacking. You can always notify a staff in the mcc discord if you see a hacker, but staff won’t always be available so recording and reporting would most likely be your best bet. As always, if you’re active on mcc n’ such you could apply for staff and monitor the server and catch hackers instead of waiting for a staff member to check your reports. ;) anyways.... Have a great day! ~puposaurus
Hey, Unfortunately, it's just too unrealistic of an idea since we really wouldn't have any evidence of the user cheating and this could be abused quite easily. I just can't see this being implemented anytime in the future :/
I completely agree with steve this command can be abused very easily and may be misused. Therefore I dont see this command coming to the server any time soon
The best way to get around the whole “I wasnt recording” thing is to have an application that records the last minute or so on your computer. I have an app on my mac that records the last two minutes called “RetroClip”. It helps out a lot since it also takes practically no Ram.
You don't even need a specialized application; OBS has this feature built in under the name 'replay buffer'. If you use proprietary recording software from NVIDIA/AMD, they both also offer Shadowplay and ReLive, respectively.
It is a good idea, but to ban hackers you would need evidence and doing a /report won't do anything but use up the time of the staff. Some people like to be salty and call hacks on people that aren't even hacking.
/report is something that has been requested by the community for such a long time but the biggest problem is that it's useless without staff being able to teleport into games once they've started. Without knowing exactly how MCC is set up it's basically impossible to tell how hard that would be to implement but I definitely think if they can make it happen it'd immensely help the hacker problem that the server currently has and something that everyone would be grateful for. For now, as people have stated, the easiest way is to either simply record each game (and delete the file afterward if there are no hackers so you don't waste heaps of disk space) or use a program to record the past X amount of minutes when you activate it. There are heaps of options but the best imo would be simply to use OBS replay buffer. If you don't know how to set that up just do a google search of "how to use replay buffer obs" and you'll be provided with a bunch of helpful videos and articles.
I seeing that people try to abuse the chat report system, I can gurantee that it'll get abused as well. Its not a bad idea, it just has a lot of cons that will come with it rather than pros. Have a great day/night!
/report has been the most highly requested thing on this server for the longest time. I truly don't think it would really be that hard to add into the game really in all honesty.. For example, Helpers usually are the ones to focus on chatreports, and moderator+ can focus on the /report system. Whenever a player does /report on an IGN, the mod can easily do their "/isonline" command, go find the player, and see for themselves. However, there are some downfalls 1. Staff can't teleport into ongoing minigames. 2. Yes, they can queue up with the hacker in next games, but it would be 10x harder to find the hacker in the CTF minigame 3. It would mostly be useful in subservers where the staff member could easily teleport and spectate for themselves. If the staff member does not think the player was hacking, they can easily close the report. If they did ban, they can accept the report. I also feel like the player should have a "reputation" for how many accepted, and denied they have had, so the staff member knows that this player usually does not false report and such, while others with a ton of denies will most likely not get their report responded to as early. Easy consequences will be made to those who don't want to use /report to the proper use. If a player is caught abusing it, they are punished. If a player is caught spamming it, they are punished.
you can use quicktimeplayer then click “file” at the top, then “new screen recordings” or as joshy said, there’s RetroClip
We used to have /report on one of the subservers as a test of sorts. It was a bit of an experiment but it ended up not working out too well. The biggest issue was that the reported players would be offline by the time staff checked them or they would be false. On another server I was staff on these were big issues as well and a lot of hackers wouldn't be banned because people would just /report them instead of recording, then by the time we checked out the report the player was offline. I would 100% support this if it wasn't for people replacing recordings with /report. The only way it could potentially work is if the anticheat was designed to automatically spectate(?) reported players similar to HP's. Recording and reporting has and always will be the best method of catching hackers for MCC. If the server was a lot bigger then /report would be really handy but since there's only a few subservers with a couple realms, it's a lot easier for staff to enter the games and spectate. It's a bit challenging for minigames but improving the anticheat will help a ton with the hacker problem.
Hello, When I first joined the server, I thought it was stupid that they don't have /report. But then, I saw the amount of staff, and how you can catch them yourself, it just turned the tables! /report isn't really needed, for the amount of Moderators online 24/7, and the amount of players that record the hackers, and report them in the reports section. You can spectate when you die in minigames, and you can record hackers then. But, a /report in the sub-servers would be really handy considering that there isn't a spectator mode in there, and considering the amount of players in the sub-servers. If you implemented it in the sub-servers, that would be the best choice, but for minigames it isn't really needed. If you need any help just contact me on discord! Information down below!
It's very easy to join the discord to tag staff member in support when you find someone hacking or friend a couple of staff in-game who play at the same time as you to be able to message them if you need help.
