Should Farming Backpacks be implemented?

    Hey guys, Jorfie here.

    I have been thinking about a new item that could be implemented next season to make Skyblock even better than what it is now. I will be introducing you to Farming Backpacks.

    My Idea:
    Farming Backpacks
    , similar to Mining Backpacks on Prison would be a cool addition to the Skyblock realm. It would allow you to store crops, similar to Mining Backpacks, storing ores.

    How You Would Obtain Them:
    You would be able to have a chance at receiving Farming Backpacks through Ancient and Mythical keys, as well as a very small chance to receive one from a vote key.

    Upgrades and Info:
    Like the Mining Backpack in Prison, you would be able to level up the amount of storage that you have for your Farming Backpack using Skyblock Tokens. Here is a list of the storage per level, and the upgrade cost:

    Level 1 - 500 crops, 10 tokens
    Level 2 - 1000 crops, 20 tokens
    Level 3 - 1500 crops, 30 tokens
    Level 4 - 2000 crops, 40 tokens
    Level 5 - 2500 crops, 50 tokens
    Level 6 - 3000 crops, 60 tokens
    Level 7 - 3500 crops, 70 tokens
    Level 8 - 4000 crops, 80 tokens
    Level 9 - 4500 crops, 90 tokens
    Level 10 - 5000 crops, 100 tokens

    ...and so on.

    How this could help:
    Instead of having the autosell upgrade on the premium hoe (which is very nice by the way,) I think that if we implement these Farming Backpacks, then we would be able to have room for a new upgrade. (Experience boost could be 1 point, Treasure Hunter could be 2 points, Double Drops could be 3 points,) And now we have room for another amazing upgrade for the Premium Hoes.

    Hey there,

    Autosell on the harvest hoe was implemented to allow players to not have to stop and type /sell all as much. It was also capped at 80% so that you can't afk farn for hours on end and never having to stop. This is also why they implemented an afk plugin. Introducing a farming backpack will just allow players to afk farm for longer.

    Overall, -1 for a farming backpack

    But you can remove autosell because of the backpacks, so it doesn't really make it so you afk for longer, it sort of replaces it and adds room for a new enchantment for the harvest hoe

    It would make it slightly longer for AFK farmers but most people don't do that anyways.

    You would be surprised how many people do it. It's actually one of the most common farming methods

    If your main point of this backpack is to change auto sell for another ability/enchant on the harvest hoe. There isn't really a need for this and doesn't really do anything thats beneficial.
    If you really do want another ability/enchant, what are some suggestions you have?

    Overall, I still think autosell would be better than a farming backpack

    Having farming backpacks instead of autosell could change things up so Skyblock is more interesting.

    I don't currently have any ideas for another enchantment, but at least farming backpacks open up the opportunity to add something new and fresh.

    I completely agree with Incarnation regarding this topic. In the past seasons before season 11 auto sell was allowed to 100% and there was no alt limit while farming so players could be running 10-20 accounts at once farming while tabbing out. This also allowed scripters to be able to script farm way easier due to the simplicity of farming. However recent updates with the 80% max auto sell and the 2 accounts per up farm cap has allowed for farming to become less automatic than it was in the past. This was an annoying change at first but in the long run I believe it was beneficial to not ruin the eco. The introduction of backpacks would be a step back as skyblock would become even more like prisons and more ptw as well because players who buy more keys will not have to /sell all as often which is the opposite of what MCC is aiming for. The backpacks are a redundant change that is not necessary.

    I think an interesting idea might be to have a crop based leveling system. In prisons for their private mines they have bots that can be unlocked to give double ores, token boost, and exp boosts on top of the boosts you get from your personal pick. However in skyblock the only island boosts you get are skill booster and can only be gained from slaying the mobs and keeping your bots powered through that. I love that they brought that aspect to skyblock, however, at times it feels useless as the nether phantoms that you kill don’t provide income and the boosts you get are only to skill level not an actual boost to gain profit from. I know that getting a higher farming skill gives a higher chance for fertilizer bombs which is nice, but to be frank fertilizer bombs aren’t that useful for farming. If there was a leveling system where you get points every 500k or 1 mil crops farmed on an island that could be used to benefit double crop drops (cost 3points), increase crop growth rate (cost 2 points), increase tokens from crops (cost 1 point) for the island it would be an interesting idea. This would make it so players who make public farms might gain an advantage for themselves as they can get more boosts by helping others and for comp players it would incentivize them to place their farms on the main island instead of a hidden island. It would also provide more use for the crops farmed stat in island info. This is just a concept that I thought of last minute.

    I agree with your idea, and just to be clear my idea was just an idea. I know it's most likely not being implemented ever, but it is just an idea.

    Skyblock is still really a fun experience, and personally I don't think anything has to be changed. I was just putting ideas out there to possibly spice the experience up.
