Why the CTF bow is fine the way it is....

    CTF is not about sword pvp. There are other game modes for that. It is unique because it is a minigame that incorporates the bow. It is a game that needs bow and teaches bow pvp.

    Think about it this way - How are cappers most affected?

    . Bow needs to be considered a primary aspect of the game, almost as equal as capping is. It is supposed to be the predominant part of pvp and makes those that lack in sword pvp skills be stronger in other areas. (not everyone can click 17 cps for example). It is what makes CTF the game it is.

    As a capper myself, I find it very frustrating that one arrow can take away half my health. But to be honest, that is my fault for getting hit. Most arrows are dodgeable, and getting 2-shotted is honestly rare. It is not anyone's fault but the capper for getting two - shotted. Most cappers will agree with me here, we do not like making excuses for ourselves.

    Also, I encourage you all to remind yourselves that recoveries are supposed to be much easier than captures anyway. It is what makes cappers so important and impressive.

    if you hate bow spam, you should love Power I. I know it seems confusing but CTF players are surprisingly accurate with their bow. if they can hit 4/6 shots, they will (for the most part) keep hitting shots in that ratio. I will hit you in that ratio. You will get bow spammed MORE and rage MORE if you remove Power I, guaranteed. Power I makes it quicker and actually DECREASES the potential rate of bow spam. IF YOU HATE BOW SPAM, DO NOT REMOVE POWER I.

    CTF IS NOT A 1v1 MINIGAME.
    you need things like Power I and Infinity to be able to handle 2v1s, 3v1s, 4v1s, etc. You simply cannot do that with a nerfed bow. Of course there are exceptions, but majority of players require a certain bow to deal with the team nature of the game.

    I'd warn against nerfing bow, it will make the game very imbalanced, and it will soon turn to who can sword pvp the best. That is simply not what CTF is, and it should never be moving in that direction.

    THIS IS NOT TEAM DEATHMATCH, IT IS ABOUT CAPTURING THE FLAG OR RECOVERING IT.

    removal of Power I mostly appeals to team stackers more than it does for anyone else. if you do not like team stacking, Power I is your friend.

    I advocate for attention to balance in perks to help deal with the current bow. The BOW IS NOT THE PROBLEM.

    THE PERKS, and LACK OF PERKS ARE. However, do not make it too op. just make it balanced. If this rings support, I will think of perks to help deal with it. Raoul had good ideas.

    Leaving the bow as is is probably the best option for the sake of the game.

    A focus to better perks, new map additions, bug fixes, removal of team selection is what, in my opinion, CTF needs. Nothing more.

    +1, the bow should be the main wep and there are other games for sword pvp.

    I’d be fine with Zynnphony’s solution that I don’t feel like linking but I also wouldn’t mind if they didn’t change anything.

    I think the big “bow spam” complainers really just cry because they want to be able to kill everyone all the time with their sword — I’ve seen them cry if they die in 2 shots or 6; as long as it’s by bow they call the whambulance.

    Getting two shotted is annoying, but people would cry just as much when they can’t recover anything without the bow.
