    Hey Everyone!

I recently got muted for accidentally leaking and Ip which in my opinion, should not result in a perm ban, or having to wait a month to appeal, however, thats not the point of this thread. I have an idea, I think that before you get muted/banned, you should be able to have a conversation with a staff member, getting a chance to explain yourself if it was truly an accident. Now I understand appeals are a little like this, however, I think it would be better to have a discussion in game as its easier to communicate. I really think that this would let a lot of players who were truly innocent and just made a mistake (like me) to get a chance to prove themselves before having to wait a month.

No worries if this idea cannot be implemented just wanted to get the idea out there.

Please respond to this thread if you have any good adjustments to this idea!

    Thanks

    Hey there.

I strongly disagree with this suggestion. Staff Members have to deal with a lot of punishments every day. The main source of punishments come from chat reports, and if a Staff Member had to discuss with the punished player every time they made a punishment, it would take forever to deal with reports. There is no need to make chat reports a long-winded and tiresome task for Staff. I really don't think this is necessary as MCC already has a pretty effective appeal system.

    Have a nice day.

So what you are suggesting is a screenshare for chat offenses? This wouldn't be that good as it requires staff on 24/7 on every subserver. In your case, where you said an IP in chat, you publicly advertised a server IP of that is not MCCentral. I agree with this being a Perma Mute as this is giving players a chance that they might leave this server to join the other server, which would reduce player count and kill the server. Even if you accidentally posted it, the IP was still out there.

    Huge -1 from me

Wow, did not expect that. What I am saying is that if it seems to be am accidental mistake, then they should have a conversation. Staff does not need to be on 24/7 because if they were to mute someone, right before that, they could have a discussion if it seemed like an honest mistake.

    That's what appeals are for.

You can do an appeal and possibly try to provide evidence or something that can show that it was an accident.

Also, people could just buy alt accounts and use them to say their own server's IP in chat. If this were implemented, they could just act like they were innocent and it was a mistake. oh my bad i forgot that i had a server IP in my clipboard. This would let them advertise way more than once without even wasting time to appeal

In some cases though, your appeal can literally not be accepted for a certain amount of time, like the website wont let me submit an appeal for 20 days or something

Some punishments you have to wait a certain time before appealing.

I saw your punishment as it was a perm mute and says you can appeal in 6 months.

    Hey there HiloPlayz!

My reaction to this is that it kind of already exists over discord dms. If a player feels they were false muted or that it was an accident, I'm always willing to discuss their punishment over discord. Now, it's true that in most cases I will end up telling the player to appeal, but it's good to have an idea of why you were muted if you're not sure why you were muted/to learn the guidelines of when you can appeal certain mutes. As for in game, I don't really see this being a good idea. If every muted player had the ability to message the staff member who muted them, our in game dms would become pretty flooded with people who aren't too happy about their mutes. Additionally, for your mute we don't control the time periods for when you can appeal, even if it's an accident there's nothing we can do at the time. So I'd say just appeal/dm the staff who muted you to explain the situation and it will get taken care of.

    Have a good day.

    Hi,
I totally agree with the other comments on this thread. Making an option for players on the server to communicate to staff in-game just to explain or proof how you are innocent of your punishment is the same as appealing for your punishment in forums on the MCC website. Like the others said, your idea would not be effective since it would slow down the process of accepting and/or denying players appeals. It is considerably faster to just appeal your justification or proof on the website than in-game (taking every player into account). Although I totally see where you're coming from, I consider your suggestion as an equal model to the appealing system that already exists; besides that, it is also faster and more effective for everyone that way than talking to staff members in-game.
