add spanish channel on discord

I really don't think a spanish speaking channel is necessary, there may be some spanish speakers on mcc however most can speak fluent english so I feel like the channel would rarely be used, it would also be pretty difficult to moderate without the use of google translate or spanish speaking staff. The main reason why there is a Portuguese channel is because MCC has a very large portugues speaking community, many aren't fluent in english which is why it was made in the first place and why there is a @brstaff role. Overall, -1 but wouldn't oppose them adding it.

I liked this idea, on Discord we have a general chat (usually in english) and a separate chat for Brazilian/Portuguese people, the Portuguese-Chat.
I think if they add a Spanish Chat, it will be a way to include more people, and also a way to learn more about the language, the culture, and this kind of stuff of Spanish People. I also think it could increase the number of spanish players, as they will feel welcomed on the server.
This is just my opinion, but I really think it would be interesting!

I really like your point of view on this, I have been on this server for a while and I did suggest it once a while ago, I would really enjoy a spanish chat, as a spanish talker I would really like to see the spanish talking community gathered together as not many of them can speak english fluently. A big +1 from me :)

Exactly, I think we need sometimes to put ourselves in someone's shoes. Me as a brazilian person, already have a place in this community, with the portuguese chat. I can understand english and write a little bit, but when we know that we have our own space to talk on our native language, it feels so good and enjoyable. Not everyone can be empath with other, so I'll try to explain and make it clear...

Imagine if you like so much to play on a Brazilian Server, you really enjoy it, but the server just have translate to portuguese and spanish, cause the language is a little bit similar, but there's no english include, and you don't know how to speak portuguese and not even spanish... So you just play your games, you aren't part of the community cause you can't interact with anyone because of the language.
Too hard to understand and put yourself on the other's shoes? Talvez você coloque isso no Google Tradutor para tentar entender, mas mesmo assim, você percebe que seria muito mais fácil se você pudesse interagir de alguma forma com as outras pessoas, principalmente se vocês estivessem num mesmo canal para conversar na sua língua materna. Google Tradutor não é 100% eficaz, mas com certeza salva muita gente, e é muito útil, porém ainda assim seria incrível poder conversar e encontrar amigos na sua própria linguagem, e saber que você também pode fazer parte da comunidade.

I love this idea; I would enjoy a Spanish speaking chat. Spanish is another universal language a lot of people, myself included, can speak, and I would enjoy seeing the community come together like the Portuguese channel. Also, I would like to point out that people can learn another language this way as well. I love seeing different communities get together, So this is a Juicy +1 from me. :D

 

As mentioned above, there is a Portuguese chat because the pt/br community is really big (and has always been). I play on MCC since 2014 and I don't think the Spanish community is as big as the pt/br community so that would be a -1 imo. If we were gonna see it that way they would have to make a channel for other languages too since not everyone speaks english fluently..

 

I think MCC should in fact add a spanish speaking channel, there is 0 reason not too. +1

 

I feel that the reason that spanish community isnt that big on the server is because they have never felt a part of it because of it being so apart from the language, I would offer my 100% help on traduction or anything that the server could/would need for this community to open their gates to a new group of people. I play MCC since 2014 as well, I have seen spanish talkers come and go as they either get humiliated for not having someone who could speak their language or a way to really understand whats going on.

I would really hope that this gets taken into consideration, maybe not now, but in the future it could become a thing, and again I would 100% put work in it.

I agree w what people said above; even tho the Spanish community is tiny on mcc there are still people who speak it (I've ran through quite a few) and it'd be great to have a chat for them. If this idea gets rejected, however, we can still use #general as we always do, I wouldn't mind.

Almost everything related to the pt/br community was removed from the forums/discord. There were a lot of threads translated and even the #rules_and_information channel was translated by me. But it all got removed. So I still think they would have to add more channels to other languages, since not only spanish people get humiliated in the server for not speaking english.
