    Hello there,

I've seen partially sufficient answers to this topic in previous posts, but I'll ask for good measure.

    Question 1
Is the system built in this video (1 minute in)...

...allowed in MCC subservers like factions and prison? They "automatically" sell chests by having an AFK player hold down LMB whilst travelling along a water stream.

    Question 2
Speaking of holding down LMB, is ClickLock (found in mouse settings) allowed? According to the official rules, it doesn't enhance Clicks Per Second / isn't PVP related, allowing me to assume that it's perfectly fine?

    Edit:
One of the "previous posts" is this one...
    https://mccentral.org/community/threads/autoclicker.35085/
...where moderator xBenz states "then that is allowed as you cannot PVP with that method" when answering to a player mentioning ClickLock ("hold the LMB for a certain time, it will click automatically"). Another replier in the thread also mentions that an AFK player mining may "just have their left button taped/weighed down", allowing me to assume that both this external method and the internal method (ClickLock) are allowed.

    Edit:
    Another "previous post" is this...
    https://mccentral.org/community/threads/autoclicker-on-mobfarms.45775/
...where moderators Mxbel and iSloth state that AFK autoclicking when farming a Mob Farm is completely unallowed -- because, as the official rules state, there's a client modification actively increasing Clicks Per Second on the LMB. However, I hope to get some clarity on this issue, as ClickLock simply holds down the LMB (which I've read that a staff member can simply stand in front of the AFK player to test if an autoclicker is active or just the LMB being held down, either physically or by ClickLock) -- not providing any competitive advantage in PVP or AFK Mob Farming, like an autoclicker would.

Thing about autoselling is that it is not allowed in any way, the way you autolock your mouse so it clicks for as long as you wish could be considered a macro, so no, as far as I am concerned it is not allowed.

I understand your logic -- an autolocking method may be considered a macro.

However, my logic is that because this "autolock" of the Left Mouse Button can be identically replicated in real life with some tape and some weight on the mouse...
How is it possible to enforce a rule against it? What's the point? Take this situation:

Player is AFK, mining a cobblestone generator; or Player is AFK in an AFK pool, selling chests (as seen in the video linked in the original post):
Staff: "Are you using ClickLock or are you just holding down your mouse with your elbow while half-asleep? Or using tape and a water bottle cap?"
    Player: "I'm doing the latter."
Staff: "I don't believe you! It must be ClickLock."
    Player banned.

It's up to you to decide whether this situation is ridiculous, or perfectly acceptable. My rationale leads me to assume that an unenforceable rule simply is not a rule.

Okay so in that situation, you would just have to be careful because a staff member can just freeze you and ask for you to join to screenshare, if you are clean then it should be fine because as you said, it can be replicated in real life, but still if a macro is found it is punisheable. Staff members are not allowed to ban players like that without evidence first.

Well, the funny part is is that in its very design, the "AFK Auto Sell Farm" implies that a player is not available to screenshare. As I mention somewhere in that wall of text under "Edit:", a staff member can simply stand in front of the AFK "autofarming" player to test if an LMB is being held or if an AutoClicker is active. While standing in front of the player, if:
    - the player stops left clicking (mining, selling chests, anything), then the LMB is simply being held. Internally (ClickLock), or externally (Tape and Weight), it will never be known.
    - the player continues to left click -- even while another player model is obstructing the block that must be in his crosshair to perform the animation -- then an AutoClicker is active.

TL;DR: Screensharing is unnecessary as there is a much easier and logical way of gathering evidence.

I understand your point but the whole point of being able to afk fark/ sell is not allowed in the server, and whoever gets caught doing it will be punished. Also the server has this plugin that will not let the players do afk farm/sell because after some time it will give you a message in chat saying "Afk farming is disabled" or something like that, exactly to prevent this kind of money grinding systems without a player being online.

Ok, interesting. Hopefully a staff member can jump in to clarify things.

In the official Rules page, I used Ctrl+F to search keywords "afk" and "auto", finding 0 rules mentioning "afk", and 4 official rules mentioning "auto":
    1.) Macros/Scripting - Using a script to run commands in a pattern, to get a /kit or to AutoSell (/sell, /sell all).
2.) AutoClicking - Using a program to increase your CPS (Clicks Per Second).
3.) AutoFishing - Any use of AutoFishing, whether it's part of an illegal modification or hacked client.
4.) Auto Selling - Using the /sell command to gain and unfair advantage over others, such as using a macro, hotkey, or as a script.

Now, take a look at the video in the original post...
That is not a macro, nor a hotkey, nor a script.
    It's a machine.
It's a machine using nothing but a sell wand, water slides, and a held down left mouse button.

I listed the rules above to prove that while Auto Selling using illegal modifications (scripting /sell all, and the such) is disallowed (as you said)...
I see nothing disallowing an AFK pool, nor the use of a sell wand or pickaxe, nor the action of holding down the Left Mouse Button (once again, whether by ClickLock or Tape & Weight).

Minecraft is great because of creations like this -- no illegal modifications involved. If there is a plugin that specifically counters this machine (is there a plugin that detects if someone is using a sell wand? is there a plugin that detects if someone is in an afk pool? is there a plugin that detects if someone is holding down left click?), then, well, first of all I've never heard of it or seen it, and, once again, hopefully a staff member can clear things up by confirming or refuting.

Having an alt float around with a sell wand with the mouse button held down is perfectly acceptible - our sell wands have usage limits, so you'd be wasting your uses by doing so anyways, but thats upto you.

If you are using click lock, realistically there is no way for us to tell, as the outcome is no different to using the F11 trick, or having a heavy item on your mouse.

However, if we ever did screenshare you, and we found software that wasn't allowed, we'd 100% punish you.

Lastly, cactus is not powerful on any subserver, specifically because it causes lots of lag from item entities, so even if you made this you'd be wasting your time.

Manual farming is encouraged on all subservers, where using a Harvest Hoe is many times superior to an AFK farm; making all of the questions moot.

Ok, thank you for clearing things up. Just a few things:

    - I understand it's vital to mention the screensharing system, but an AFK alt floating around with a stick probably wouldn't be readily available to accept/join a screenshare (so this method of checking kinda, doesn't really work or make sense).
    - It's not up to me to decide, but I believe an easier way to determine whether any illegal software is involved is to have a player (likely staff member) obstruct line of sight between the AFK alt and the block (likely chest intended to be sold). If the alt continues to left click, even on the entity model of the player, then an autoclicker is active. If the alt ceases the left click animation [when obstructed by an entity], then the button is simply being held. It's up to you to decide whether this is a valid suggestion/approach or not.

    - Also, I didn't have cactus in mind :)... I was thinking of grinders on the Prison subservers -- where the sell wand has a throttle, preventing any wasted uses or anything like that.

The thing here as Kieren and I said before, staff members arent capable of just telling if youre holding something on your mouse, using a not allowed software, etc, by just watching you, so if in any case someone using this kind of afk farming system gets frozen, they would just have to join the screenshare to prove they werent using any software as I mentioned. Its better not to take any risks, and if what you want is to make money while not being home or on your computer, theres spawners now, they make money while you afk them.

bruh I just explained 3 times over in this thread how staff can tell if LMB is held or LMB is being autoclicked by just standing in front of the player I'm just wondering if it's a "yeah we can approach it that way" or a "no we can't"
